Funeral Mass for Olive Marie Block, 97 of Eden, SD will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eden, SD with the Rev. Fr. Brian Simon Celebrant. Organist will be Basil Knebel and Special Music by Sacred Heart Choir. Pallbearers will be   Kim Fonder Jr., Nicholas Bergseth, Ross Stolsmark, Creedence Fonder, Craig Block, and Devin Cheshier. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Olive's Family & Friends.                                 Interment will be in the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Eden, SD. There will be visitation on Saturday. June 17, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Olive Gollnick was born February 28, 1920 at Lily, SD to Theophile J. and Margaret (Sass) Gollnick. She was the oldest of nine children. On June 7 ^th , 1939 she married Roman Block in Bristol, SD. Together they made their home and raised a family on the farm in Marshall County South Dakota.

Olive enjoyed farm life, gardening, traveling, dancing, local activities, family and friends. In the later 1980's she fulfilled her life long dream of raising registered Arabian horses, which included traveling to horse shows. Olive moved from the farm to Sisseton, SD in 2004. Olive Marie Block, 97, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

She is survived by two sons, James (Elaine) Block, Milbank, SD, Larry, Sisseton, SD; three daughters, Margie (Erland) Smith, Spring Creek, NV, Janet Fonder, Rapid City, SD, Nancy (Leroy) Stolsmark, Peoria, AZ; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dean; husband Roman; four brothers; two sisters; two grandsons; one granddaughter and special friend Mr. Marvin Mackner.
