Memorial Service for Naomi RoseAnn (Mitzi) German , 68 of Sisseton, will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Tony Dummer officiating. Honorary Urn Bearers will be Christopher German, Shania German, James Stanton, Ashley German, Chance Stanton, Logan Willhite, Satine German, Owen Chandler, Jack Chandler, and Cherrie Chandler. Inurnment will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Grenville, SD at a later date. There will be visitation on Monday, April 4, 2011 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Cahill Funeral Chapel. There will be visitation one hour prior to the Memorial Service on Tuesday. Naomi RoseAnn Snaza was born on March 29, 1943 in Webster, SD to Anton F. and Helen Eva (Wasilk) Snaza Sr. After finishing her education at Roslyn Public School she worked at Landsberger Creamery in Sisseton, SD from 1963 to 1973. She then went to work at Tekakwitha Nursing Center, Sisseton, SD from 1973 to 2010. Mitzi was united in marriage to Dale German of Peever, SD on May 19, 1963 in Sisseton, SD. They were foster parents from 1968 to 1995. Dale passed away on February 24, 1995. Mitzi enjoyed rodeos, gardening, puzzles, and sewing and was a Big Elvis Fan. Mitzi passed away on April 2, 2011 at Sanford Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND.
Mitzi is survived by three sons, Vernon Dale German Jr. of Council Bluffs, IA; Kenneth and wife Holly German of Tallahassee, FL, and Michael and wife, Dee Chandler of Anderson, Indiana; one daughter, Tonya Rae German of Sioux Falls, SD; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Joan and husband, Robert Lewis of Byron, MN and Marqurite (Peg) Snaza of North Powder, OR; two brothers, Tom (Sue Smith) Snaza of Whitewater, KS and Tony and wife, Anne Snaza of Elma, NY.
Mitzi was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister Patricia Pionk; two brothers, George Snaza and Robert Snaza.
