Funeral services for Miranda Joy Crawford, Wache Hin Pejuta Skuya Win "Sweet Medicine Plume Woman," 37, will be held at the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Community Center on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 11:00AM. Wake services will be held Wednesday, June 26 and Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the SWO Community Center both nights beginning at 7:00PM. Officiating will be Commissioned Ruling Elder Gerald "Jr. H" Heminger, JC Crawford, Rev. Danelle McKinney, Rev. Enright BigHorn. Pianist will be Billy Kohl with Special Music by Franklin Keeble and Drum Group is Dakota Nation. Pallbearers will be Merlino Bear, Wayan Bear, Randen Bear, Freedom Crawford, Courage Crawford, James Crawford III, Sam Crawford Jr., ViJay Kirk, Theo Bobtail Bear, Aydan Kirk, Earlwin GreyBull, Brian GreyBull, Jay Crawford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roberta Bird, Jade LaFontaine, Mandi Fisher, Janelle DuMarce, Kristine Bock, Deb Ajdari, Larissa Spotted Bird, Eleanor Kirk, Tammy Lynn, Jeanette & Colleen LaBelle, JoDean Crawford, Jerome Renville Jr., Kari Dillon, Lisa Jones, Amber Adams, Mary Wesit, Linda Friemel, Martha Renville, John Spotted Bird, Valerie Toddand all Dakota Magic Casino Employees & Fellow Co-Workers. Interment will be at the Goodwill Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Agency Village, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Miranda was born on March 30, 1982 in Williston, ND to Edwin and Glenda Crawford Sr. She grew up and attended school in Brockton, MT and Sisseton, SD. She also attended college at SWCC. After her education she started working for the Dakota Magic Casino and worked there her entire life, serving in different departments within the casino. She really enjoyed going to casinos, spending time at the lake and spending time with her children, as well as attending pow-wows. Miranda passed away suddenly at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND after a short illness.
Miranda is survived by her children Abilene Crawford, Alvan Jackson, Amelia Jackson, Geralyn Crawford all of Agency Village; mothers Glenda Crawford, Vernita Bear; sisters Jody Thompson of Sisseton, Emma GreyBull of Agency Village, Nona Bobtail Bear of Sisseton, Woman Kirk of Agency Village, Melody Bear, Waverly Bear, Jonita Bear of Brockton, MT, Promise Crawford, Hope Crawford, and Sunni Crawford of MT; brothers Gabe Rodlund of Agency Village, Jack Crawford of SD, Merlino Bear, Wayan Bear, Randen Bear, Sonny Boy Iceman III of Brockton, MT, Theo Crowe of Sisseton, Liberty Crawford, Freedom Crawford, Courage Crawford, Challenge Crawford, Sam Crawford Jr.; ten grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Miranda is preceded in death by her father Edwin Crawford Sr.; daughter Abrielle Jackson; grandson Nicholas Eastman Jr.; brother Edwin Crawford Jr.; sister Hopa Crawford; paternal grandparents Edward and Jeanette Crawford; maternal grandparents Earlwin and Josephine Bear.
