Obituary

Funeral Service for Milton Albert Kemnitz, 74, of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Sisseton, South Dakota with Rev. Jeff Kalb Officiating. Pallbearers will be Aaron Kemnitz, Adrian Kemnitz, David Brandell, Lonny Brandell, Jason Brandell, and Charles Vandeputte. Honorary Pallbearers are "All of Milton's Family & Friends". Organist will be Clarice Arbach and Soloist Dean Lehrke. Interment will be in the Claire City Cemetery, Claire City, South Dakota. Visitation will be at the Cahill Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 9, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Family will be present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Milton was born on July 1, 1938 at Sisseton, SD to Albert and Jane (Flaws) Kemnitz. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Claire City, SD. He attended country school in Minnesota Township, graduating from New Effington High School in 1956. He worked briefly in Minneapolis, MN. Milton was united in marriage to Doris Brandell on June 17, 1961. They lived in Claire City where Milton worked for Claire City Coop as a bulk truck driver and owned and operated Milt's Septic Service. In 1986 they moved to Sisseton and Milton worked for Roberts County Sheriff's office as a jailor, the weed office and civil defense. He enjoyed collecting antiques and working in his shop on vehicles and machinery. He took pleasure in shaking dice and drinking coffee with his friends. Milton entered the Tekakwitha Nursing Home in May 2012 where he passed away on July 7, 2012.
Milton is survived by his wife Doris Kemnitz of Sisseton, SD; three children Lynne Kovarna of Stinnett, TX; Brenda (Peter) Seidle of West Palm Beach, FL; and Joel (Amber) Kemnitz of Sisseton, SD; three grandchildren Abby Kovarna and Nate Kovarna of Stinnett, TX and Peyton Seidle of West Palm Beach, FL and one step grandchild Tyler Sutton of Sisseton, SD; mother-in-law Frances Brandell of Rosholt, SD; three sisters-in-law Linda Kemnitz of Lidgerwood, ND; Karen Brandell of Rosholt, SD; and Bonnie (Ron Spitzer) Brandell of Roanoke, TX; one aunt Gladys (Lyle) Johnson of Cedar Rapids, IA and several nieces and nephews.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, brother Arvin, and grandson John Schuelke.
