Funeral Service for Michael Paul Rousseau Sr., 49, of Wahpeton, ND will be Thursday, October 18, 2018, at11:00 A.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Jr. Heminger CLP and Episcopal Lay Readers officiating and drum group will be Dakota Nation. Pallbearers will be Clinton Rousseau Sr., Michael Rousseau Jr., Dustin Barse Sr., Les Barse Jr., Edward Rousseau Sr., Roland Schoenrock, John Redday Sr., Craig Allrunner, and Arnold White. Honorary Pallbearers will be Donna Barse, Amanda Rousseau, Violet Barse, Shantal Flute, all of Michael's family, friends, and relatives. All night wake service will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 starting at 7:00 P.M. at SWO Community Center. There will be a short memorial service on Saturday, October 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Buffalo Lake District Center with inurnment at the Buffalo Lake Presbyterian Cemetery, Eden, South Dakota.
Michael was born on April 21, 1969 in St. Paul, MN to Darryl and Lorraine (Greybuffalo) Rousseau he grew up and attended school in Vermillion, Sisseton, and TZ. After his education Michael worked various jobs including being a Black Jack Dealer, a roofer, and other building construction jobs. He was married to Donna Barse on September 11, 2000.
Michael loved music, played for the Louie Louie Band as a Bassist. He liked to read, fish, and spend time with his children, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his parents, Darryl and Lorraine Rousseau of White Stone Lake, SD; children, Edward Rousseau of Agency Village, SD, Amanda Rousseau of Agency Village, SD, Roland Schoenrock of Agency Village, SD, Michael Rousseau Jr. of Wahpeton, ND, Shantal Flute of Peever, SD, Dustin "Dusty" Barse of Wahpeton, ND, Clinton Rousseau Sr. of Wahpeton, ND, Violet Barse of Wahpeton, ND; one sister, Brenda Greybuffalo of Rosholt, SD; brothers, Rodney Hill of Fargo, ND, Garryl Rousseau Sr. of White Stone Lake, SD, twin brothers, James Rousseau and Jesse Rousseau of White Stone Lake, SD; and twenty four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Dorothy Rousseau, a cousin, Anna Greybuffalo, and a niece, Loni Barse.
