Memorial Service for Michael J. Knight Sr., 39, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD at 1:00 P.M. with Myron Chaez officiating. Urn bearers will be Ashanti Knight and Michael Knight Jr. Honorary Urn Bearers will be All of Michael's Friends and Relatives. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Michael was born on October 27, 1984, in Chadron, Nebraska to Benjamin Nelson and Verla Wounded Horse-Knight. He worked as a Kitchen Manager at Big Bats in his early years and a Deli Cook at Dakota Connection from 2016-2019. He enjoyed working on cars and watching the Minnesota Vikings.

He is survived by his wife Thomasina Knight of Sisseton, SD; children Michael Knight Jr. of Oglala, SD, Alexander Knight of Oglala, SD, Eathan Renville of Sisseton, SD, Apollos Renville of Sisseton, SD, Anpo To Win Knight of Oglala, SD, Ashanti Knight of Sisseton, SD, Amelia Knight of Oglala, SD, Josie Knight of Oglala, SD, Lucille Knight of Oglala, SD, Jada Renville of Sisseton, SD, Leshiyah High Hawk of Gordon, NE; grandchildren Joshua Michael Knight, Kimimila Tasawin Chavez, Troy, Joseceito Chavez; father Benjamin Nelson; 2 sisters;  special brother Charlie Waters Jr. of Manderson, SD, his cat Hibachi.

Michael is preceded in death by his mother Verla Wounded Horse-Knight and Maternal grandfather Alex Protector.
