Memorial Service for Mary Ann Sebek, 93, of Sisseton, SD, will be held on May 31, 2026, at the St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD at 2:00 P.M. Celebrant will be Father Ken Lulf. Soloist will be Bobbi Jo Jelinek, song leader will be Sandi Jaspers, and organist will be Bill Nelson. Urn Bearers will be Mike Sebek and Todd Schultz. Inurnment will be at the Claire City Cemetery in Claire City, SD. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Ann Elizabeth Sauer was born on February 22, 1932, to Frank and Florence (Stimler) Sauer in Foley, MN. She was raised by her mom and grandmother. She attended Grade School and High School in Foly, MN, graduating in 1950. After graduation, Mary Ann moved to California and lived with her dad whom she had not seen in 12.5 years. She worked for Vallejo Lite and Power Co. for 2 years and later for an insurance company. She later moved to Omaha, NE where she worked for a year before moving to Minneapolis, MN. Mary Ann met her husband Roland (Gov) Sebek in 1955 and they got married on October 19, 1957, at the Catholic Church in Veblen, SD. Her and Gov owned and operated Sebek's Tavern in Claire City, SD for fifteen years, until they sold it in 1972. Mary Ann loved planting flowers and mowing her yard. They liked to sit outside and have a toddy. Her husband Gov passed away in 1988. She continued to live in Claire City until 2015 when she moved into Edgewood Assisted Living Center in Sisseton, SD and later to Browns Valley Health Care Center, Browns Valley, MN where she passed away on November 22, 2025.

Mary Ann is survived by one half-sister; one brother-in-law Jack (Pete) Sebek; one sister-in-law Jackie Van Dueosn; many nieces and nephews, other family Karen Sebek, Mike and Bonnie Sebek and family, Dana and Julie Stapleton and family and her friend Cheryl Schultz.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband Roland Sebek and parents Frank and Florence (Stimler) Sauer, Leo Sebek, Eugene and Chantel Sebek and her friend Bob Schultz.
