Funeral Service for Mary Lou Aadland, 71 of San Antonio, Texas will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel.  There will be visitation on Wednesday at the Cahill Funeral Chapel from 9:00 A.M. to service time.  Mary Lou passed away at Santa Rosa Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas on December 18, 2020.

Mary Lou Aadland was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on December 18, 2020 at age 71.

She was born to Lawrence and Christine Aadland on March 1, 1949. She was the youngest of six siblings. Mary raised two boys, Michael and Jody and was blessed to see her three grandsons, Joshua, Jonah, and Joseph grow into young men.

Mary enjoyed many hours of sewing, creating beautiful crafts, and cooking up interesting food in the kitchen. She had a real talent for decorating for celebrations, dressing up a table, and making a person feel special on a birthday or other important event.

Mary spent most of her life in South Dakota but moved to Texas in 1997 to be closer to her grandchildren. She sewed many clothes, blankets, and costumes for the boys. Mary worked for XYtronics here in San Antonio for many years. She was not just a co-worker, but a loving friend to many as well. She is leaving behind special memories for them to cherish. Mary loved to make trips back to South Dakota to visit family and thoroughly enjoyed her trip to Hawaii to visit Jody. She relished coordinating the family gatherings ensuring that she was able to see as many members of the family as possible. For that, the family is truly grateful

Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
