Funeral Service for Marvin Dale Keoke will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village with John Cloud III and Episcopal Lay Readers officiating. . Pianist will be Billy Kohl and Drum Group will be  Raymond  Eastman. Pallbearers will be Marvin's nephews Larry Keoke Jr., Anthony Renville, Daniel Keoke, David Goette, Derrick Goette, Dennis Sherod Jr., Victor Delgrosso, Robbie Keoke, Robert John, Micah Keoke, Isarel Keoke, Malachi Keoke, Micah Keoke, Joshua Keoke, Waylon Maesta, Matthew Keoke, Jacob Kurrasch, Jordan Kurrasch, Jarred Kurrasch, and Christopher Sherod. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mitchell Lawrence, Ulysses Abraham, Cyril Abraham, Harlan DuMarce, Leonard DuMarce, Kevin LaFontaine Sr., Arlen Renville, Touresa DesJarlait. Interment will be in the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Veterans Cemetery, Sisseton, SD  with Military Rites by Woodrow Wilson Keeble American Legion Post. #314 and Desert Storm..Wake Services will be held at the the Sisseton Wahp0ton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 26, 2023, Monday, February 27, 2023 and an all night Wake on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.  The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Marvin was born on September 18th, 1961, in Sisseton, South Dakota, on the Lake Traverse Reservation, home of the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate. His father, Robert Keoke Sr./Dennis Brant and his mother Darlene Keoke-Barse. Marvin is one of thirteen siblings; Conrad (Randy) Bernard (deceased), Darwin Mireau (deceased), Larry Keoke of Agency Village, SD, Willis Keoke of Peever, SD,  Phyllis Keoke-Sherod (deceased), Debbie Keoke-Silverman (deceased) Robert Keoke Sr. of Watertown,  SD, Arliss Keoke of Ortonville, MN, Michelle (Mike) Brant-Little of Browns Valley, MN, Dorcy Brant-Kurasch of Ortonville, MN,  Quincy (Lori) Brant of Watertown, SD, Tracy (Dale) Brant-Sherod of Ortonville MN. hunka brother Mitchell Lawrence of Peever, SD. Marvin attended Pierre Indian Learning Center at the very young age of six years old, along with his brothers Larry and Willis. Upon returning home, Marvin then resided at the Tekakwitha Orphanage in Sisseton, SD along with his siblings and later received his GED. Marvin had that bigger-than-life stature, but to the contrary, he was a very gentle, kind at-heart, loving man.  He supported his family and friends in their accomplishments and endeavors. Throughout his adult life, Marvin moved around from Minneapolis MN, Watertown SD, Sioux Falls SD, and then returned home to Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate. Along with the moves, he held various positions of employment. Painting, Casinos, Security, and Production but most of all, he loved working in our casino in the hard count department and Security department. He loved and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sipping on a cold one, sitting by the lake, or having a cookout. He just simply enjoyed visiting, reminiscing, and laughing with family and friends. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, football, and cheering for the winning team. In Marvin's younger years, he loved road-tripping, especially coming home. You could find him playing a good game of spades or baking, making fry bread, and sewing. He spent many miles riding bicycles, especially when he resided in bigger cities such as Minneapolis and Sioux Falls. Marvin would also use some of the mechanical skills he learned from his father Robert Keoke Sr., to fix cars. He loved music and could sing a mean song of "Roxanne", loved dressing nicely and keeping himself clean-cut and handsome, suave. Marvin will be immensely missed by his family & friends. In 1979 Marvin entered into the army, attending basic training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Upon completion, he then was under USARCPAC, St. Louis, MO Canon Crewman; he received the awards of Sharpshooter (M-16), 1st Class (hand grenade). Marvin passed away surrounded by his brother Robert Keoke Jr., niece RayLynn and a video call from Cousin Charlotte Keoke on February 21st, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD.  From the family of Marvin Dale Keoke we encourage all of you to cherish your loved ones and love them unconditionally.

Marvin is survived by daughter Alicia Keoke of Phoenix, AZ., daughter Faith Ashley Keoke-Alton Sr. Beaulieu, grandchildren Alton Jr., Amyra, Animikii, Alisa Beaulieu of Red Lake, MN, son Montana Keoke Sr., grandchildren Erica, Amelia, Montana Keoke Jr. of Red Lake, MN., daughter Winter Keoke of Watertown, SD, siblings Larry Keoke of Agency Village, SD, Willis Keoke of Peever, SD, Robert Keoke Sr. of Watertown, SD, Arliss Keoke of Ortonville, MN, Michelle (Mike) Brant-Little of Browns Valley, MN, Dorcy Brant-Kurrasch of Ortonville, MN,  Quincy (Lori) Brant of Watertown, SD, Tracy (Dale) Brant-Sherod of Ortonville MN. Aunts: Veronica Joyce Ojeda, Brenda Barse, Faith Barse, Peggy Barse, Anita Barse, Donna Barse Uncles: Randy Barse, Russel Barse, David Barse, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Marvin is preceded in death by his grandparents: Jacob (Etta Grant) Keoke, and Frank (Alice Kampeska) Barse; parents: Robert Keoke Sr., Dennis Brant, Darlene Barse-Keoke; his brothers: Conrad Bernard, Davwin Mireau, Sisters: Phyllis Keoke-Sherod and Debbie Keoke, niece Kimberly Keoke. Numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.
