Funeral Service for Marvin Dennis Hill, Akicita, "Warrior", 72, of Bushnell, South Dakota will be held on October 11, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Pastor Vern Donnell officiating. Special music will be by Jackie Bird and drum group will be Joe Owen. Pallbearers will be Eric Hill, Irvin Hill Jr., Donovan White, Byron White, Challenge Meng Jr., Zayne Hill, Benjamin Hill and Mike Forcia. Honorary pallbearers will be All of Marvin's Friends & Family. There will be a Wake Service on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 7:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Marvin was born on May 9, 1951 at Sisseton, South Dakota to Lorraine White and Benjamin Hill. Marvin was raised by his grandma, Ella K. White. He is the great-grandson of James King and Robert White. Marvin grew up in rural Sisseton, SD. He attended school in Sisseton. Following his education Marvin moved to St. Paul, MN and worked for Spartan Products doing spray painting. Marvin was united in marriage to Wanda Forcia on March 17, 1979 at St. Paul, MN. They continued to live in St. Paul until the late 1990's when they moved to Bushnell, SD. He worked for a short time in Watertown doing spray painting. His favorite football team was the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his dogs, and enjoyed doing yard work. Marvin passed away on October 7, 2023 at Avera McKenna Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Wanda Hill; his siblings Lydia "Ginger" (Robert) Billie, Donald Hill, Curtis (Clara) Hill, Irvin Hill, Dennis Seeley, Joann Bird, and Simon Maestas; numerous nieces and nephews, and in-laws.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Lorraine White and Benjamin Hill; brothers Arthur Elton and Lyle Elton; sister Roberta Cochran; grandparents Ella K. White and Charles White Sr.; and great grandfathers Robert White and James King.
