Funeral Service for Marlys Stagman, 82 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 2:00 P.M., at the Grace Lutheran Church, 421 3rd Ave East, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Suzie Benidt officiating. Organist will be Ollie Yost Greseth and soloist will be Pat Schubert. Pallbearers will be Jon Stagman, Mike Stagman, Kevin Stagman, Keith Stagman, Adam Stagman, Mark Stagman, Matthew Jones, Andrea Jones Hipsher, and Taylor Jensen. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be visitation at Grace Lutheran Church on Monday from 12:30 P.M. to service time. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Marlys Stagman passed away December 24, 2014 in Waseca, MN where she has made her home for the past three years. She was born on June 23, 1932 to Ernest Cuff and Ragna Hanson in Sisseton, SD. On August 28, 1947 she was united in marriage to Harold Stagman. They made their home in Sisseton, SD where they raised their four children. Richard (Mary Ann) Stagman, Waseca, MN; Rodger (Connie) Stagman, Cedar Creek, TX; Rhonda (David) Jones, Morris, MN; and Ruth (Clarence) Jensen, Minneapolis, MN.
Marlys was known as a very giving person always willing to help people out. She loved spending time with family, and was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children, nine grandchildren - Jon Stagman, Mike Stagman, Kevin Stagman; Keith Stagman, Adam Stagman, Mark Stagman; Matthew Jones, Andrea Jones Hipsher; Taylor Jensen; thirteen great-grandchildren Courtney Stagman, Jack Stagman; Cameron Stagman, Kaiya Stagman, Tyler Stagman; Chase Stagman and Mason Stagman; Gunner Stagman; Lane Stagman; Henry Hipsher, William Hipsher, Sophia Jones, and Zachary Jones; one sister, Darlene (Leonard) Freeberg; three brothers, Robert (Cheryll) Martenson, James Martenson, Dennis (Barb) Martenson and one brother-in-law, Cecil Stagman and his wife, Eva; and two sisters-in-law, Janis Martenson and Arleen Martenson.
Marlys is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold in 2007, two sisters, Jeanette Skjonsberg and Randene Brandriet; two brothers, Galen Martenson and Neil Martenson, and one great-granddaughter, Hope Stagman.
