Funeral Service for Marlys Jean Hagen, 79, Fargo, ND will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 12:00 P.M. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Suzanne Benidt officiating. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Hagen, Travis Hagen, Matthew Zawislak, Christopher Zawislak, Jeremy Bacon and Todd Frederick. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be a visitation on Saturday, May 30, 2009 one hour prior to services at the Cahill Funeral Chapel.
Marlys was born on August 6, 1929 in Sisseton, SD to Harold and Mae (Dempsey) Vesting. She went to school in Sisseton and graduated from Sisseton High School. Marlys was united in marriage to Stanley Hagen on June 2, 1949 in New Effington, SD. Marlys passed away on May 19, 2009 at Meritcare South University, Fargo, ND.
Marlys is survived by her loving husband for 60 years, Stanley Hagen of Fargo, ND; three daughters, Kathleen Hagen of Champlin, MN, Nancy Struss of Coon Rapids, MN, Holly and husband, Frank Zawislak of St. Paul, MN; one son, Kevin Hagen of Hawley, MN; three sisters, Anna York of Shoreview, MN, Violet Thiel of Mesa, AZ, and Hazel Bergerson of Sisseton, SD; eleven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, one son Douglas and one brother. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
