Graveside Funeral Services for Marlys Ellsworth, 88 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wilmot City Cemetery, Wilmot, SD with Rev. Martin Herzberg officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Ellsworth, Aaron Ellsworth, Paul Stapleton, Jay Tasa, Terry Ross and Kaye Cahill. .Interment will be in the Wilmot City Cemetery, Wilmot, SD. Masks and social distancing are required. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Marlys was born on November 28, 1931, to John and Clara (Minder) Jensen in Wilmot, SD.  She graduated from Wilmot High School in 1949 and worked in Browns Valley, MN and Sioux Falls, SD before moving to Sisseton.  On November 14, 1955, Marlys was united in marriage to Allan Ellsworth.  Marlys worked with Allan in the family business and was also a homemaker.  Through the years, she was a devoted Sunday school teacher and especially loved singing in the choir.   In her younger years, she enjoyed flower gardening, crocheted many beautiful and intricate doilies, and loved attending concerts and travelogues. She was a loving wife, mother, and the best of Grandmas.    Marlys passed away peacefully at Tekakwitha Living Center on Thursday, November 5 ^, 2020..                                                                               She will be missed and dearly remembered by her children Mark Ellsworth and Janet (David) Spurgin; grandchildren Allan (Casey) Ellsworth, Aaron Ellsworth, Lindsey (Ryan) Stange, Will (Nastasha) Spurgin, Jenny Spurgin, and Sarah Chance; and great-grandchildren Eli Ellsworth, Evelyn Ellsworth, Braxton Turner, Bailey Turner, Ella Turner, Trenton Turner, Elissa Cuellar, Dylan Chance, Devin Chance, and Jenavive Chance and many dear cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Marlys was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allan, by her parents John and Clara Jensen, and her brother Richard Jensen.
