Funeral Service for Mark Richard Adams, Mino Jibakwe Inini "He cooks good", 58, of Claire City, SD will be held at the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Hall, Sisseton, SD on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 9 A.M. with Filmore Simon and Pastor Milton Owen officiating. Drum Group will be Toka Nuwan. Pallbearers will be Jason Adams, Shad Adams, Slayton Crandall, Mike Adams, Christopher Adams and James Adams. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Andrew Adams, Thompson Family, Clayton Adams Family, Russell Adams Family, Pat Adams Sr. Family, Craig Adams, Stanley Borowicz, Brian Williams, Amber Adams, Shanda Adams, Terry Renville, Military Comrades, Hunting Buddies, Kenny Adams Family, Brandon Adams, Dewayne Boyd, and Close Relatives. An all-night Wake Service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 beginning at 7 P.M. Interment will be at St. Matthew's Catholic Cemetery in Veblen, SD with Military Rites by Desert Era Veterans. The Cahill Funeral Chapel in Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Mark was born in Sisseton, South Dakota on August 23, 1964, to Audrey (nee Butler) and Richard Adams. He grew up in St. Paul Park, Minnesota. He married Nora Mayotte in Odanah, Wisconsin in 1996. They resided in St. Paul, Minnesota until 2009, then in Odanah, Wisconsin until 2019. He then lived in Veblen and Claire City, South Dakota. He graduated from Park Senior High in Cottage Grove. He studied Painting & Drywall finishing at St. Paul Technical College in 1998. He studied Liberal Arts at the University of MN - Twin Cities - class of 2000. He studied Civil Engineering at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities- class of 2014. He entered the United States Marine Corp on February 28, 1984, and was discharged on February 27, 1988. He also served in Army National Guard for about 9 years and retired in November of 2010 due to disability. He loved to cook and worked as a chef in various jobs for much of his life. He also did painting and drywall. Mark Richard Adams passed away on August 15, 2023 at his home in Claire City, South Dakota at the age of 58 surrounded by family and friends.
He is survived by his father, Richard Adams, his children, Andrew, Lacey, and Isabella Adams, his grandchildren, Lawrence, Mya, and Jordan Adams, his brothers Les King & Craig Adams, his sisters Denise Bell & Elizabeth Borowicz (Stan Borowicz). A Special mention to his godfather & Uncle Russell Adams, Amber, Shanda, Jason, and Shad. He had many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Adams.
