Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church 525 Chestnut St E, Sisseton, SD on Saturday, June 19th, 2021 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Fr. Gregg Frankman celebrant. Organist will be Kay Nicholas and song leader will be Megan Nieland. Pallbearers will be Maggie's Family & Friends.   Internment will be in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. Magdaline Lentsch Aadland (Maggie) was born to Frank Lentsch Sr. and Susan Weyer Lentsch, on November 16, 1929 in Sisseton SD. Maggie graduated from the 8th grade in 1943 with a certificate of general studies.           Maggie was a wonderful mother to her two children Gale Susan Aadland Lauzon and son Delton Scott Aadland and surrogate mother to many of their childhood friends and her numerous nieces and nephews. The best Grandmother one could ask for to Dennis Rhodes, Nichole Lauzon Johnston, Jolene Etlinger, Alexander Aadland and Cassandra Aadland as well Great Grandmother to Jacob Johnston, Kaytlyn Johnston, Samuel Etlinger and Nathan Etlinger , and Great-Great Grandmother to Jackson and Atticus.

Maggie worked in the local hospital in Sisseton until the time of her marriage to Dennis Aadland on her birthday in 1949. Together they temporarily moved to Washington State but returned due to Maggie's homesickness for her family and South Dakota. Maggie and Dennis returned to Sisseton until they moved to Huron, SD in 1951 where she farmed with Dennis and was employed with Northwestern Bell. In her 37 years working at Northwestern Bell (later AT&T), Maggie was promoted from Assistant Clerk to Group Manager and transferred several times with the company. In 1960 they moved back to Rapid City, in 1964 it was back to Huron, then on to Mobridge, SD in 1973 and back to Rapid City in 1979 before one last transfer to Waterloo, IA in the spring of 1987 where she retired from the company at the end of the year. In retirement Maggie and Dennis lived in Rapid City till moving to Custer, SD in 1989.

Once retired Maggie took up the hobbies of making porcelain dolls and designing and sewing doll clothes. Her dolls and clothing won several blue ribbons at the county fair. Maggie and Dennis enjoyed their retirement and loved scenic drives, auctions, garage sales, trips to Deadwood's casinos but mostly spending time with friends and family and spoiling grandchildren. Upon Dennis's death in December 5, 2002 the ever adventurous spirited Maggie moved into a new home in Custer. She lived independently in Custer till 2016 at which time she moved in with her son and daughter in law (Delton & Brenda) in Rapid City, until her short stay in hospice care. Magdaline Aadland, 91, of Rapid City, South Dakota passed away June 10, 2021, peacefully in her sleep while at the Hospice House in Rapid City.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Aadland and daughter Gale Aadland Lauzon along with brothers George Lentsch and Frank Jr. Lentsch and sisters Rose Stewart, Marie Argo, Veronica Novstrup.
