Memorial services for Mabel Helen Howell, 76, of Sisseton, SD will be on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church with the Pastor Patrick Jenkins officiating with soloist Pat Schubert and organist Ollie Yost. Urn bearers will be all of Mabel's grandchildren. Honorary urn bearers will be all of Mabel's Family and Friends. Inurnment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Mabel Helen Howell passed away January 24, 2018 at Golden Living Center in Mobridge, SD.

Mabel was born August 30 ^th , 1941 in Sisseton to Henry VanHeel and Milda (Landmark) VanHeel. She was baptized at Bethel Lutheran Church confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church, Sisseton and graduated in 1959 from Sisseton High School. Mabel married Roman Skowron in 1960 to this Union 3 children were born; Dorothy, Romel and Roman Ray. She married Curtis Howell in 1968 to this union 3 children were born; Lee, Laura and Tammy. She lived on a farm in One Road Township until 1952 when she moved to Sisseton. She worked a Melvin's Cafe, Landsberger Creamery, Mobile Cafe and Supper Club and Tekakwitha Nursing Home. Curtis passed away April 3, 1999.

Mabel is survived by 4 daughters, Dorothy McCurdy of Mobridge, SD, Romel (Mike) Moen of Wahpeton, ND, Laura (Dave) Geyer of Council Bluff, IA and Tammy (Creg) Kleinwachter of Lisbon, ND; 2 sons, Roman (Sue) Skowron of Aberdeen, SD and Lee (Suzanne) Howell of Sisseton, SD; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 step sister Irene Boyce.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Milda VanHeel; her husband Curtis Howell; 2 brothers, Harvey and Jerry VanHeel; 1 half brother, James VanHeel and 2 granddaughters, LaDonna Skowron and Ashley German.
