Funeral Service for Lucille Solberg, 90, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. William Schruba officiating. Organist will be Mona Greseth and soloist will be Pat Schubert. Pallbearers will be Virgil Lotzer, Jerry Benson, Arnie Benson, Michael Currence, Ronnie Bucklin, Joe Just, and Terry Weinkauf. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Lucille's Family & Friends. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be visitation on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 from 2:00 to 7:00PM. There will be visitation one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Lucille Marjorie Solin was born on April 13, 1919 in Sisseton, SD to Albert and Maude (Bice) Solin. She grew up and attended country school. Lucille was united in marriage to Walter Solberg on December 3, 1939. The couple farmed in Goodwill Township until retiring in September of 1978, and moving into Sisseton. Lucille worked at the City Bakery, Landsberger Creamery and DaCotah Inc. She liked to garden, bake, cook and can. She liked square dancing, soap operas and listening to the radio. Lucille always remembered everyone's birthdays and holidays. Lucille was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Lucille passed away on February 21, 2010 at the Tekakwitha Living Center, Sisseton, SD.
Lucille is survived by five children, Beverly and husband, Gary Dickinson of Sisseton, SD, Kenneth Solberg of Sisseton, SD, Sandra Koch of Hankinson, ND, Keith and wife, Mary Solberg of Sisseton, SD, and David Solberg and Sandy
Stickland also of Sisseton, SD; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, Lonnie Solberg, three brothers, Clarence, Carl and Adrian Solin; and two sisters, Mary Bendickson and Gladys Schloe.
