Funeral Service for Louise Crawford, 76, of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, South Dakota with  Butch Felix officiating. There will be a Celebration of Life, fellowship and dinner following the service at St. Kateri Hall. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Louise was born on June 30, 1946 to Daniel and Hasbah (Tso) Yazzie at Lókáá Sikáád Reed Springs 5 miles southwest of Many Farms, Arizona into the Tsinaajinnie (Black Streak Wood/Bear Clan) and Naasht'ézhi din'é Zuni Tachiinii (Red Running into the water Clan).  She attended high school at Riverside Indian School, Anadarko, OH and dental lab tech/West – Dental Assistant School.  She met her husband, Lester Crawford, in 1969 in San Francisco at the S.F. Indian Center.  They were married on July 17, 1970 in Oakland, CA.  They stayed in the bay area and raised their family in Alameda, CA.  They moved to Sisseton, SD in June 2010.  Louise passed away on March 14, 2023 at Watertown, South Dakota.

Louise is survived by her husband Lester Crawford of Sisseton, South Dakota; two children Lesley (Rodrigues) Crawford and Lindsay Crawford both of Alameda, California; four grandchildren Lindsay Tautalatasi, Raymond Nevel, Emma Rodriguez and Cecila Rodriguez; two brothers Lee) Yazzie of Many Farms, Arizona and Herbert Yazzie of Phoenix, Arizona; four sisters Betsy Hardy Rokeigh Rock, AZ, Ida Yazzie of Chinle, AZ,  Shirley Cody of Phoenix, AZ, and Teresa Yazzie of White Comb, AZ; and a sister-in-law Lillian Wanna.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Hasbah (TSO) Yazzie; two sisters Ellen (Hardy) Jackson and Betty (Yazzie) Benallie and one brother Alfred Yazzie.
