Funeral Service for Louis Peter Musil Jr., "Heyoka" He who boosts the peoples moral, 65, of Browns Valley, SD will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the SWO Community Center at Agency Village, SD. Officiating will be J.C. Crawford and Jr. Heminger CLP with Pianist Kay Burschiem. Pallbearers will be Adam Wilson, Cedric Wilson, Phalen Azure, Dusty Renville, Tanner Wilson and Alejandro Castro. Honorary pallbearers will be Jane Barse, Phedora Wilson, Rhonda Wilson, Stacey Azure, Justina Grant, Lydia Wilson, Leila Redday, Keith Lee and Joanne Wilson. Interment will be in the Goodwill Presbyterian Cemetery, Agency Village, SD. There will be a wake service on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 starting at 7:00 PM with an all night wake on Wednesday, November 16 starting at 7:00 PM all at the SWO Community Center, Agency Village, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Louis was born on June 5, 1951 to Louis Musil Sr. and Josephine Wilson in Sisseton, SD. He grew up and attended Flandreau Indian School and graduated from Sisseton High School. After his education he worked for local farmers. He moved to Newtown, ND and was married to Monica Fox and the couple had a daughter Heather. Louis also owned and operated a gas station. Louis was an artist making pipes for over 45 years. He liked to fish, gamble and visit with people, he loved to tell stories. He played guitar for the Gordon Bird Band, and loved helping people and fixing their cars. He loved to travel; visiting Pipestone, MN often for stone for his pipes. Louis passed away suddenly on November 13, 2016 at his home.
Louis is survived by one daughter Heather Musil; adopted brothers and sisters Raymond Wilson of Rosholt, SD, Phedora Wilson of Sisseton, SD and Jane Barse of Browns Valley, MN; and a number of aunts, cousins and one niece Justina Grant of Minneapolis, MN; and one nephew Delano Grant of Minneapolis, MN and four grandchildren, Delano TwoThunder Grant, Sharon Marie Grant, Alejandro Castro, and Maribel Castro, and one great-grand daughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Sharon Musil.
