Funeral Mass for Louis Michael Joseph Stevens, 23 of Shelton, Washington formerly of Sisseton, SD. will be held on Monday, September 1, 2008 at10:30 A.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Fr. Andrew Knop, OMI Celebrant. Organist will be Billy Kohl. The Pallbearers will be Joe Martinez, Jesus Sierras, John Hunter, Loren Thompson, Russell Thompson, and Clinton Small. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jon Yost, Josh Cunningham, Preston Jones, Aaron Henning, Tad Donnell, Isaiah Horne, Monte Thompson, Corey DeMarrias, Tyrell Richotte and Shelby Keeble. Interment will be at St. Matthew's Catholic Cemetery, Veblen, South Dakota. There will be a wake service on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. St. Catherine's' Hall, Sisseton, SD, and an all night wake on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at 7:00 P.M..
"Mikey" was born on May 3r, 1985 in Juneau, Alaska to Louis S. and Linda L. (Thompson) Stevens. Mikey attended elementary school, middle school, and graduated from Sisseton High School in 2004. Mikey's home was in Sisseton, SD where he grew up with his grandfather, Winfield Thompson, his aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins. Mikey loved to fish and attend church regularly. He enjoyed listening to his music, but never liked rap. Mikey had a good heart and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Mikey moved to Seattle in 2007 where he went to start a new life and to be near his father. Mikey got a job as a welder/machinist at Olympic Fabrications in Shelton, Washington in April 2007 where he made many friends. Mikey passed away on August 22, 2008 in Shelton, Washington from injuries he received, when he was hit by a car.
Mikey is survived by his mother, Linda L. Thompson of Sisseton, SD, his father Louis S. Stevens of Bremerton, WA, and his sisters Lonna Stevens of St. Paul, MN., and Luonda J. Stevens of Shakopee, MN, and his step father, Thomas Marks of Sisseton, SD. Mikey was a loving uncle to Shiana Stevens, Shayle Stevens, Jeryen Stevens and Joseph Martinez. Mikey is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mikey was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Virginia (Redday) Thompson, and paternal grandparents, Julia and Joseph Stevens, one cousin, Corey Keeble, several aunts and uncles.
