Funeral service for Lorraine Iris Wolfvoice, 73, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Enemy Swim Community Center, Enemy Swim, SD. with the Rev Fr. Charles Chan and the St. James Lay Readers officiating. Pianist will be Billy Kohl and Pallbearers will be Marcelo Barnett, Keith Wanna Sr., Charlie Vermillion, Sam Parys, Scott Bigpond, Corwin BlueDog, Christian Owens, Billy Kohl, Kent Mallory, Garrett Keoke, and Sean Shepherd Honorary Pallbearers will be Sharon and Roxanne Tchida, Cora Kitto-Jones, Julia Owens, Nita Kirk, Jody Rios, Cindy Polina, Laura Bagola, Christine and Cheryl Beaver families, Beatrice Biddell and family, Tessie Wolfvoice Willie, Dorothy McNae, Randy and Noreen Iyarpeya families, Patrick Deutsch Jr., Mike Friemel and family, Ruth Campbell, Mike Sierra Sr., and all her friends at Rosalies, and all her Oklahoma family and friends. Drum group will be Long Elk. Interment will be in the St. James Episcopal Cemetery, Enemy Swim, SD. Social distancing and masks are recommended . There will be services on Monday, October 5, a family service and Tuesday, October 6, an all night wake all at 7:00 PM and all at the Enemy Swim Community Center. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Lorraine "Rainy" Iris Wolfvoice, 73, Wakan Mani Winyan (Holy Walking Woman) was born to Ira and Edith (Iyarpeya) Owens on August 21, 1947 at Sisseton, South Dakota. Rainy first lived near the Day School at Enemy Swim, then the family moved to Wahpeton, ND where she grew up and attended school except for a couple of years spent at St. Mary's Episcopal Girls School. She graduated from Wahpeton High School and went on relocation program to Chicago, IL graduated from a two year radiology technology program. She began her career as a X~ray tech at Oklahoma City, OK where she was married to Orlando Williams to this union two children were born Terra Lou and Orlando Chris. She moved to Tulsa where she continued her medical career and also worked at various occupations. She met Dolph Wolfvoice and they married and Dakota was born from this union. After Dolph passed she returned to Moorhead, MN then to the Sisseton area where she worked for Indian Health Service, working at the old hospital. She was recently working for Sisseton Wahpeton Housing Authority as a receptionist.

Rainy had many past times from playing basketball, and softball in high school, playing pool, darts (talk about an eagle eye). She later played bingo, and watched OU football. She enjoyed the many friendships developed at Rosalie's and also just cruising the hills... And she could dance, her most recent partner being her son Billy. Rainy doted on her Grandchildren and Grandson, never forgetting their birthdays.

Rainy is survived by her daughter, Terra (Corwin) Bluedog of Webster, SD and three sons, Dakota (Andrea Tulsa) Wolfvoice of Sisseton, SD, Billy Kohl of Big Coulee, SD, and Scott and Susan Bigpond of Stillwell, OK; eleven granddaughters, one grandson, and one great-grandson, five sisters, Aurelia Louie of Omak, WA, Lois Owens, Grace Frazier, and Arlene Owens of Sisseton, SD, and Annette Blackthunder of Waubay, SD, and two brothers, Leonard Owens, of Sisseton, SD and William Owens of Waubay, SD..

Rainy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dolph Wolfvoice, son Christopher Owens, Grandson Orlando Williams, and sisters Claudia Owens, and Ellen Hauser.
