Funeral Service for Loretta Louise Kohl, 39, of New Effington, South Dakota will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, South Dakota with Billy Keeble and Sr. Catechist John Cloud III officiating. Pianist will be Billy Kohl. Pall Bearers will be Buddy Anderson Jr., Randy Murray, Cash Harles, Mason Kohl Jr., Cayden Kohl, James Rondell, Tiffani Crawford, and Destiny Shepherd. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Carrie Getzlaff, Krista Kirk, Alyssa Tuttle, James Robertson, Ahmylee Kohl, Shelby DeMarrias, Nadine Kohl, April Keeble, Taylor Kohl, Baby Jaycelyn Bliss and Samantha Heminger. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Episcopal Cemetery, Agency Village, South Dakota. There will be an all-night Wake Service on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 7:00 P.M. at the SWOTCC, Agency Village, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, South Dakota is in charge of arrangements.

Loretta was born on October 29, 1986, in Sisseton, SD to Joseph Kohl Sr. and Lila Mae Renville. Loretta loved drawing, writing, and working. She also loved checking on her family and friends. Loretta was definitely a daddy’s girl. She loved his cars/trucks and motorcycles. She wanted her own Harley one day. Loretta was a person you could go to when you felt down because she knew how to put a smile on someone’s face. She was a woman that even if she had nothing she would figure out how to help you. Her heart was big for her family. Loretta made sure her nieces and nephews were fed and always took them bowling. She was for sure good at bowling and showed up her nieces and nephews every time. Growing up down in Wilmot she loved riding horses with her brothers Francis and Bradley. She rode old grey. She loved playing hide and seek with her brothers, sisters, and cousins. Back in 2007 she was married to Thoms Anderson “buddy”. They had two handsome boys Thomas and Julius. Loretta also had a son Carter and a daughter Jessalyn and baby Nick and Romona. Loretta always talked about how much she loved each and every one of her kids. Loretta was such an amazing, generous women and a beautiful woman. Loretta passed away on September 18, 2026, at New Effington, SD. Loretta will be missed by all her family and friends.

Loretta is survived by her six children, Thomas Anderson III of Agency Village, Julius Anderson of Agency Village, Carter White of Buffalo Lake, Jessalyn Keeble of Old Agency, Nick Heminger Jr. of Sisseton, and Ramona Heminger of Sisseton, her parents, Joseph Kohl Sr. and Lila Mae Renville; four brothers, Mason Kohl Sr. of Sisseton, Joseph Kohl Jr. of Agency Village, Francis Kohl of Big Coulee, Austin Kohl of Agency Village, two sisters, Kadine Kohl of Watertown, and Tiffani Crawford of Agency Village.

Loretta was preceded in death by her brother Bradley Kohl; Paternal Grandparents Lucy Quinn and Fred Kohl Sr.; Maternal Grandparents Loretta Renville and Franklin Keeble Sr.
