Funeral Service for Lloyd Lester Crawford, 80, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Buffalo Lake District Center with officiating Gerald Heminger, John Cloud and Rev. Enright Big Horn officiating. Organist will be Kay Bursheim. The Drum Group will be Long Elk. Pallbearers will be Clay Crawford, Rodney Crawford, Nico Sartwell, Darren Crawford, Ricky Crawford, Matthew Gill, Todd Marks, and Cody Gill. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Lloyd's Family & Friends, Nina Johnson, Leo Hull, Frankie Barse, Leon Marks, Franklin Keeble, Janisch Family and Jim Janisch and family. Interment will be in the Buffalo Lake Presbyterian Cemetery, Eden, SD with military rites by American Legion Post #314. There will be an all night wake service Tuesday, December 30, 2014 starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Buffalo Lake District Center. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Lloyd was born on May 31, 1934 at Sisseton, SD to Francis and Lillian (Sansaver) Crawford. Lloyd attended school at Flandreau. He served in the Marine Corp from November 4, 1952 to November 3, 1956 during which time he earned the following medals: Navy Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, U.S. Service Medal and Korean Service Medal. He attended NDSCS taking auto body. He moved to Tacoma, WA. and worked for Boeing. He moved back to the Sisseton area and worked for the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Housing until he had became ill in 1999. Lloyd married Carole Pilcher in 1995. He loved to hunt, fish, as a family play games, loved watching TV, going to great grandchildren's activities, casino and bingo. Lloyd passed away on December 28, 2014 at the Tekakwitha Living Center, Sisseton, SD.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Carole of Eden, SD; seven children, Norman Crawford of Tacoma, WA, Lloyd Crawford Jr. of Tacoma, WA, David Crawford of Tacoma, WA, Lolita Seaboy of Waubay, SD, Kayleen Mosser of Sioux Falls, SD, Dawn Pilcher of Eden, SD and Gary Dean LaBatte of Granite Falls, MN; one sister, Zola Greene of Sisseton, SD; two granddaughters, three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Floyd; brother Norman; and one sister, Francis Crawford-Eastman.
