Little Dove passed away on August 24, 2023, at Plattsburgh, New York. Her son Gordon Campbell Jr. was able to make the trip to New York to be with her in her final hours. Her family is so grateful she was not alone. Little Dove was born in Sisseton, SD on July 11th, 1971, to Norbert D. Jones Sr. and Edna (Blackthunder) Jones. When she was 10 years old she had major heart surgery and we almost lost her then. She fought hard and lived way beyond any and all expectations.  She attended Peever Elementary School in Peever, SD through the fifth grade. Moving on to Pierre Indian Learning Center in Pierre, SD, through eighth grade. And finally Sisseton High School in Sisseton, SD. Little Dove was strong in her traditional Dakota culture and family history, always willing to help when called upon. She would tell the stories of Dakota history. She was very proud of her family history, always telling you where you came from and who your relations are. She especially enjoyed making star quilts during her time in Santee, NE. In her later years she became a free spirit in every sense, traveling across the country while making friends all along her path.
