Funeral Service for Lincoln Beeman Bird, 60, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD, with Pastor Morgan Redday, St.    Mary's Episcopal Lay Readers, and Fr. Charles Chan officiating. All Night Wake Service will be on Sunday, February 23, 2025, starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Dakota Alliance Church, Sisseton, SD.  Drum Group will be the Old Agency Singers. Pall Bearers will be Aslak Haug, Jacob Haug, Lawson Goodbird, Axle Haug, Emerson Bird, Justin Brown, Buddy Bird Jr., and Aiden Brown. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Dakota Alliance Church Members, Sisseton-Wahpeton Housing Authority, all Family and Friends, Deserick Jake Bird, Elliot Bird, Justina Bird, Norelle Bird, Alyssa, Danielle, Rainelle Brown; Elena Brown, Jasmine Crawford, Shennoah Seaboy, Gabrielle Bird, Alexx "JJ" Bird, Frank Barse, Troy Barse, Patrick Deutsch Jr., and Candida Heminger. Interment will be at the St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery, Agency Village, SD. Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Lincoln Bird Jr., age 60 of Sisseton, South Dakota passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Lincoln was born on July 4, 1964 to Lincoln "Buddy" Bird Sr. and Elena Ruth (Owen) Bird. After his early education, he attended North Dakota College of Science for auto mechanics. After numerous construction jobs, his last employment was with the Sisseton-Wahpeton Housing Authority. When Lincoln was 14 years old he helped build the Dakota Alliance Church in Sisseton, SD. A pillar in both heart and hands, not only did he play a vital role in the building of Dakota Alliance Church, but also laid a foundation of faith not only laid in bricks and mortar but also in the hearts of many. It was there that Lincoln met Devola, and together, with mother Ruth Bird, they built a life centered on God's grace and love. Dakota Alliance Church remained a home for their growing family, where they raised their children and later their grandchildren to walk in the same sanctuary, learn the same truths, and experience the same unwavering love of Christ that bound their family together. Through every season of life, Lincoln found joy in worship, in fellowship, and in serving others with a generous heart.

A Man of Quiet Strength. Lincoln was a man of few words but endless wisdom. Through hard work, patience, and unwavering faith, he built a life centered on love and responsibility. His hands were never idle, his heart was always open, and his actions spoke louder than words. A Protective Brother and Uncle. He was a source of strength and guidance. Always protective, always caring, he made sure his family felt supported and loved. Whether through chastisement, quiet advice, a helping hand, or simply being there, he left an impact that will never fade. A Devoted Father & Grandfather. He helped raise his wife's children and grandchildren with kindness, teaching them the value of integrity, perseverance, and faith. Week after week, up until his death, he along with his children and grandchildren still attend Dakota Alliance Church faithfully. A Son Who Loved Deeply. Perhaps one of his greatest acts of love was the care and devotion he gave to his mother. Daily, he would always stop at his mothers to check on her. She in turn, would always cook him lunch while working at Sisseton-Wahpeton Housing Authority. He honored her not just in words, but in action—ensuring her well-being, showing her respect, and cherishing her until the very end. A Loving and Patient Husband. He was a devoted husband whose love was steadfast and true. Through every season of life, he stood by his wife with patience, kindness, and unwavering support. In their 25 years of marriage, they were never apart more than a handful of days. His love was not just spoken but shown in the everyday moments of care, laughter, and togetherness.  Lincoln passed away on February 18, 2025 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Lincoln is survived by his mother: Elena Ruth Bird; wife: Devola (Haug) Bird; children: Lenora Haug, Jalynn Biddell and Jacob Haug; grandchildren he raised: Lawson Goodbird, Aslak Haug, Axle Haug, Graciella Haug, Rodrigo Aragon, and Neftali Haug; sisters: Caroline Bird, Frances Bird and Lindy Bird; and numerous nieces and nephews; uncles: Michael Owen, Joe Owen; aunts: Delilah Owen and Sylvia Owen.

Welcomed into heaven before him are father Lincoln "Buddy" Beeman Bird Sr.; brothers: Buddy Bird Sr., baby Joseph Bird; sister Valerie Bird; paternal grandparents Samuel Bird and Laura (Renville) Bird; uncles: Kenneth Bird, special uncle Curtis Bird, and Milton Bird; aunts: Lily Mae Lawrence, Thelma Lawrence, Karen Heminger, and Beverly Bird; maternal grandparents: Remus Owen and Caroline (GoodVoice) Owen; maternal uncle Edward Jake Owen, special aunt Beverly Owen Bird, nephew Edward Bird.
