Lillian Carlson, age 92, passed away peacefully at Tekakwitha Living Center on Saturday, October 31st. The family will be gathering for a private service at Grace Lutheran Church. Lillian was born on August 14, 1928 to August and Ragna Meyer. She married Clifford Carlson on December 11, 1946. Clifford and Lillian lived in Rockford, Illinois for a short time then moved back to South Dakota where they farmed south of Sisseton until Clifford's passing in 1975. Together they raised 7 children. Lillian worked in the Sisseton Bakery after moving into town. She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran church where she helped make more quilts than she could count. She was a dedicated Mom who made sure her family understood the value of hard work, honesty, respect and good humor.  She loved spending time with her family, playing cards and working jigsaw puzzles all while putting together a delicious meal to feed the whole crew. After raising her family, she enjoyed taking bus trips and collecting thimbles from the many places she visited. Her thimble collection triggered many conversations about her travels.

Lillian is survived by her children and their spouses, Dale, Lyle (Colette), Elaine Coonrod (Lynn), Karen Johnson (Chet), Cheryl Reyelts, Pam Wohlers (Jeff), and Michael (Michelle), 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren; sisters Ruby Jacobsen, Norma Howard and Beatrice Herding; nieces and nephews too numerous to count.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Carlson; her parents August and Ragna Meyer; 1 grandson Trevor Carlson; 3 brothers Elmer Meyer, Clarence Meyer and Arnold Meyer and 1 sister Marie Richards.
