Funeral Service for LeRoy Allen Quinn Jr. will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Family Life Assembly of God Church in Sisseton, SD with Pastor Vern Donnell officiating. Pianist will be Billy Kohl. Pall Bearers will be Dustin LaFromboise, Landon LaFromboise, Marc Beaudreau, Verlyn Beaudreau, Patrick Deutsch Jr., Brandon Deutsch, Melvin Clifford Jr., Weston Quinn, Darrell Quinn Jr., Justin Quinn, Konnor Seiber, Curtis Bissonette and Trish LaFromboise. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Jr.'s nieces, Quinn-Kohl Family, Randy Barse, Bryan Berg, Russell Hawkins, Pastor Vern Donnell, Randy Arbach, Dennis Keeble, Michelle Anderson, Nichole Peterson-Quinn, Roy Daniels, SHS Class of 1972 and The Jarman Family. Interment will be in Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, South Dakota. There will be visitation at the Family Life Assembly of God Church from 5:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2024, with the wake service following at 7:00 PM. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

LeRoy Allen Quinn Jr., age 70, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024, at his home in Sisseton, South Dakota. Born on December 1, 1953, in Sisseton, South Dakota to Leroy and Louella (Wanna) Quinn Sr. LeRoy was a beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many.

LeRoy grew up in Enemy Swim, South Dakota, where he attended Enemy Swim Day School. As a child, he enjoyed catching frogs with his siblings and cousins, hunting rabbits, and playing cards with his parents and family members. His family then moved to Sisseton in 1965 when he was in middle school. LeRoy was a popular student who excelled in many sports, especially track, baseball, and basketball, where he set numerous school records in track and field. He was also honored as homecoming Chieftain his senior year, graduating from Sisseton High School in 1972.

On May 12, 1984, LeRoy married Sheila Jarman, welcoming her children Dawn and Allen as his own. Together, they welcomed their son Michael, on April 8, 1986.

Throughout his career, LeRoy dedicated himself to serving many tribal communities. He worked for United Sioux Tribes in Aberdeen, SD, Dakota Magic Casino in Hankinson, ND, Indian Health Service (IHS) in Aberdeen, SD, Washoe Tribe in Carson City, NV, and as the General Manager of Dakota Connection Casino in Sisseton, SD. He continued his employment as the Executive Director of the Sisseton Wahpeton Housing Authority from 2005 to 2010, where he oversaw the construction of a new SWHA Administration Building and the Barker Hill Project, adding over thirty new homes to the community. LeRoy's hard work was widely recognized and celebrated.

LeRoy marked over 20 years of sobriety, a journey that brought immense pride to him, his family, and friends. LeRoy will be remembered for his exceptional Whist skills, love for the Raiders, and the laughter he brought to friends and family. He enjoyed playing pool, listening to 'oldies' music, and watching basketball, baseball, football and old western shows. His legacy of generosity, humor and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

LeRoy is survived by his children Michael (Emma) Quinn of Fargo, ND and Dawn (Barry) McGrady Onekama, MI; 9 grandchildren; Rusty McGrady, Sierra Hull, Matthew Hull, Katelyn McGrady, Ashley McGrady, Nathaniel Fick, Marie LaCroix, Hollis Quinn, Bridger Quinn; 2 great grandchildren; Beau Fogarty, Brynlee Fogarty; his sisters Marlys Beaudreau of Sisseton, SD, Carol (Melvin Sr.) Clifford of North Sioux City, SD, Fran Quinn, Pam Quinn, Tami (Johnny) Seiber, and Terri Quinn Brooks all of Sisseton, SD; numerous nieces and nephews;

He was preceded in death by his parents Leroy Sr. and Louella Quinn; his brothers Verlyn Quinn, Darrell Quinn Sr.; sisters Marilyn Quinn, Mavis Quinn, and son Allen Lacroix.
