Wake Services for Larry L. Rencountre, 58 of Sioux Falls, SD will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the Enemy Swim Community Center, Enemy Swim, SD. Thursday October 20, 2016 at approx. 12(noon) Larry will be taken on his last ride to be laid to rest in Fort Thompson, SD. Wake Services will continue in Fort Thompson with an all night wake on Friday. Funeral Services will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Thompson on Saturday October 22, 2016 at 10:00 am. Pallbearers will be Juston Barse, Delbert Hopkins, Tamarick Rencountre, Devon Rencountre, Kyle Barse, Emery Flute, Maurice Rencountre, Robert Draprau, and Jason Rencountre . Honorary Pallbearers are Todd Erickson, Douglas Rencountre Jr. , Gayle Rencountre, Robert Rencountre, Leroy Rencountre, Charles LongCrow, and all of Larry's Friends and Relatives. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Stephan, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of Funeral arrangements.
Larry Lee Rencountre was born on March 3, 1958 in Aberdeen SD to Douglas Rencountre Sr. and Geraldine Christenson Rencountre. Larry Graduated From Waubay High School in 1976. He played football and basketball for Waubay High School and was voted Chiefain his senior year. He was a amazing man and an even more amazing father. He enjoyed playing cards and Yahtzee with family and friends, making people smile and spending time with his family. He is the proud father and grandpa of 10 children and 13 grand children. He has 12 brothers and sisters who loved him as much as he loved them. Larry began his journey home October 17, 2016 surrounded by his family and friends. He will be missed GREATLY by his family and all who knew him.

He is survived by his children Brandalynn Barse of Watertown, SD; Rolanda Barse of Watertown, SD; Juston Barse of Waubay, SD; Kyle Barse of Waubay, SD; Joanne Rencountre of Sioux Falls, SD; Salina Berg of Sioux Falls, SD; Tamarick Jennesse of Sioux Falls, SD; Larraya "Rachel" Rencountre of Sioux Falls, SD and Aiden Rencountre of Tea, SD. His grandchildren Alyssa, Justice, Andre, Adrian, Kalab, Kylee, Kodee, Marley, Nevaeh, Cirston, Wambli, Mariana and Layona.
Larry was preceded in death by his Grand parents Margaret Noble and Bert Rencountre; Grand Parents Joakin and Florence (Bluedog) Christenson; His Father Douglas Rencountre Sr.; Brother Robin Rencountre and his Son Derrick Rencountre.
