Funeral Service for Larry Arthur Kriz, 73, of Veblen, South Dakota will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Veblen, South Dakota with Rev. Tryphine Olson-Schruba officiating. Organist will be Coleen Halverson with Special music by Jerry Nelson and TheaLoy Pallansch. Pallbearers will be Jim Kriz, Jared Kriz, Ethan Schmid, Cody Kriz, Adam Kriz and Cameron Kriz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ralph Wickre, Carmen Lien, John Herman, Richard Evenson, Glen Evenson, Ray Bricksen, Gordon Mussetter and David Baus. Interment will be in the Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, Claire City, South Dakota. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Cahill Funeral Chapel from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 PM with a time of sharing from 6:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and visitation will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Larry was born on January 30, 1941 to Arthur and Marie (Kusta) Kriz in rural Sisseton, South Dakota. He grew up in the Sisseton area attending country school through the 8 ^th grade. He married Dianna Schmid of Sisseton on November 29, 1963 at Claire City, South Dakota. They moved to a farm in rural Claire City and later moved to Veblen in 1989. During his lifetime he worked milking cows for several neighbors in the Sica Hollow area. Then he bought a stack mover and hauled hay for many people in the area. In the early 60's Larry bought a backhoe and started his own business, LK Trenching. He worked all over Northeast South Dakota until he had a heart transplant in 2000. Once he was able he did odd jobs when he could. He liked trapping in his earlier days. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, collecting antiques, and model cars. He liked tinkering in the shop and woodworking in his later days. Larry passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 surrounded by family at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Larry is survived by his wife, Dianna Kriz of Veblen, South Dakota and four children Terry and wife Jennette of Aberdeen, South Dakota; Jeff of Ryland, Kentucky: Danny of Webster, South Dakota and Staci Kriz and (Craig) of Aberdeen, South Dakota, five grandchildren; Adam (Lynn), Cody (Stefani), Malana (Brady) all of Aberdeen, SD; Jeneva (Chris) of Webster, SD and Cameron of Minneapolis, MN, two Great Grandchildren Konstant and Horizon,   two sisters, Gayle Kriz of Claire City, South Dakota and Corliss (Gary) Bucklin of Thief River Falls, Minnesota and four brothers Gary (Linda) Kriz of Sisseton, South Dakota; Don (Geraldine) Kriz of Claire City, South Dakota; Dale (Teri ) Kriz of Phoenix, Arizona; and Randy (LaDonna) Kriz of Claire City, South Dakota and two dogs Cosmo and Rusty.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Marie (Kusta) Kriz.
