Obituary

Funeral Service for Landis Arron Barse, 30, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the SWO Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with CRE Gerald Heminger Jr. officiating. Pianist will be Billy Kohl. Drum Group will be Red Storm. Pallbearers will be Drayzen Barse, Dustin "Dusty " Barse, Cameron Bird, Austin Barse, Chris Keeble, Jordan LaCroix, Garrett White, Jace Starr, Nico White, Daniel DuMarce, Dallas LaCroix, Laythan Barse, Matt Cleveland, J'Ryce Bird, Tiernan Whirlwind, Raiden Deyoung, Jacob Keeble, Gavin Gladue, Curt Desjarlait and Jesse Hayes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sharryl Johnson, Shantale Barse, Megan Labelle, Lenore Little Ghost, Charity "Baby C" Eagle II, Clinton Rousseau, Michael Rousseau, Violet Barse, Natasha Decouteau, Brandon Barse, Destinee Beaudreau, Ember Keeble, Jaden White and Tylynn St. John. Burial will be at St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery, Agency Village, SD. Wake Services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. and Sunday March 28, 2021 all night wake starting at 7:00 P.M. at the SWO Tribal Community Center. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Landis Arron Barse was born October 15th, 1990 in Sisseton South Dakota he attended preschool in Old agency Village and after preschool went on to Sisseton Public School from the grades of kindergarten up until 8th then Landis transferred to Flandreau Indian School in Flandreau South Dakota for his freshman year and then he left Flandreau Indian School to TZ finish out his high school years which he graduated in 2010 with his fellow cousins Austin Barse and many other friends and family after finishing High School Landis went to work for Dakota Magic Casino as a porter where he met a lot of new friends and good people, many who work for the Dakota Magic still to this day transfer from Porter to security guard with everybody pretty much known him as the big heavy security guard but was it such a teddy bear in the nicest person you will ever ever meet he continued to work for the casinos majority of his life transferring to the Dakota connection working in surveillance in 2014 he had a daughter Charity Jewel in Charity July 28th then in 2015 he had his son Dreyzen Jax Barse who was born Nov 3rd 2015 in Sisseton SD Landis loves his son very much and was so excited to be a dad being one of the last bros to finally have a kid he kind of knew what he was getting himself into and he was ready Landis love to work on cars and help family in need any time anybody needed anything Landis was there if it was a place to stay money to get around help with their vehicle he was there regardless of what he was going through or if he didn't have the means to help he would help regardless he was a very loving and caring and compassionate person who always put others before himself family was a big thing for Landis it was very important to him to stay close to his cousins and his uncles and aunties and nieces and nephews he loved the Barse family so much it meant something to him he carried the last name like a badge of honor in his spare time Landis loved to have fun hanging out with family and friends beloved family occasion Family reunions any kind of get together whether it was birthday parties graduations he was always excited to see his loved ones in his family and spend time with them he was a big guy and he had an even bigger heart everyone who really knew Landis knows how loving and caring he was he had these hugs that he would give everybody that he was known for everybody that grew up with Landis wasn't a cousin wasn't a friend they were brothers and sisters to him blood or not blood if you were close to him you were his brother you were his sister he will be greatly missed by so many and we all know he's in a better place now reuniting with so many loved ones that went on before him.

Landis is survived by his Mother Andrea White of Sisseton, SD; his father Troy Barse of Peever, SD; his children Drayzen Barse and Charity Eagle II "Baby C" of Sisseton, SD; one brother Laythan Barse of Peever, SD; three sisters Laryssa Barse of Wahpeton, ND, Lanie Barse of Wahpeton, ND and Lexie Barse of Morris, MN; Paternal grandmother Brenda Solberg of Sisseton, SD; Maternal grandmother Cynthia Starr of Sisseton, SD and paternal grandfather Maynard Beaudreau of Peever, SD; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Landis was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Arnold White Sr., paternal great-grandmother Violet Barse, uncles Robert Louis Starr and Shawn Beaudreau.
