Funeral services for Koyake JoMae Kohl will be held on Monday, January 29th, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center in Agency Village, SD. Dinner will be served at 12:00. Wake services will be held at the Sisseton Wahpeton Community Center at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 27th and an all-night wake on Sunday, January 28th. Officiating will be John Cloud III and drum group will be the Old Agency Singers and Pianist will be Billy Kohl. Pallbearers are Mason Kohl Jr., Cayden Kohl, Jaymin Kohl, Nikolas Kohl, Paul Keeble, Fredy Gill, Franky Gill, Derrick Lohnes-Shepherd, Dusty Renville and Jerry Eastman Sr. Honorary Pallbearers are Life Scape staff of Sioux Falls, SD, Human Services Center staff of Watertown, SD, Deanna LaBelle, Brooke Wegener, Kimberly Keeble, Heather McCleery, Jayleen White, Justin Ellingson, Uncle Tom Wilson and Grandma Charlene Miller.  Interment will be in the St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery, Agency Ville, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of Funeral arrangements.

Koyake JoMae Kohl was born in Sioux Falls, SD on July 19th, 1999 to Mason Kohl Sr. and Tonia Gill. She grew up in Sisseton, SD and attended school at Westside Elementary and Sisseton Middle School prior to transferring to Life Scapes school in Sioux Falls, SD. Koyake graduated from Life Scapes in 2017.

After graduation Koyake moved to a group home with the Human Service Agency in Watertown SD, right across the street from her special aunt Kadine. She loved being next to Kadine, they had a special unbreakable bond. While in Watertown, she worked part time at Goodwill and a local fitness center.

Koyake loved puzzles when she was younger and as she got older she loved creating colorful pictures with her colored pencils. She loved to "jam out" and dance to her favorite songs like; Laffy Taffy, Right Round, Get Low, Glamourous and many more. She was always ready to visit family or friends whenever she could, whether it was in person or over video chat. She loved going for cruises and getting her favorite stuffed grilled taco from Taco Johns. She loved her siblings and nephews with all her heart and would always ask about them and wanted to tell them she loved them.

When you told Koyake you loved her she would make sure to respond with "I love you more."

Koyake passed away on January 24th, 2024, at Avera St Lukes in Aberdeen, SD.

She is survived by her father Mason Kohl Sr. and his children; Mason Kohl Jr., Cayden Kohl, Adisyn Kohl and Khloe Kohl all of Sisseton, SD. Her mother Tonia Gill and her children; Kianna Gil, Fredy Gill, Franky Gill, Ariyah White, Tonia McKee, and Tate McKee, all of Moorhead MN. Her grandmothers; Lila Reville of Sisseton, SD and Rita Wilson-Baker of Moorhead MN. Her grandfather Joe Kohl Sr. of New Effington, SD. Nephews; Nolan Kohl, MJ Kohl, and Kairo Kohl, of Sisseton SD; Niece Layla Lafontaine. As well as many Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her Great Grandmother Loretta Renville, Great Grandfather Franklin Keeble Sr., Grandfather Gaylord Gill. Grandmas; Sandra Keeble. Leta Keeble, Deidra LaBelle. Grandpas; Franklin "Babe" Keeble Jr., Jerome Renville Sr., her uncle Gaylord "Gage" Gill Jr., her cousin Lucile "Lucy" Kohl and sister Lucia Olette Salazar.
