Funeral Service for Kelsey Dawn Englund, 19, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Kateri Tekawitha Hall, Sisseton, SD, with Rev. Fr. Brian Simon celebrant. Pallbearers will be Ron Owen, Mike Kappes, Hunter Clark, Quentin Owen, Cody Massey, Jonathan Massey, RJ Doxtater, Richard Varns Jr. and Dylan Doxtater. Honorary Pallbearers will be Human Service Agency, April Ree, Shayann Taylor, Kayla Smith, Temira Hill and all of Kelsey's cousins and friends. Interment will be in the St. Benedicts Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be an all night wake service on Monday, August 21, 2017 starting at 7:00 P.M. at the St. Kateri Tekawith Hall. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD, is in charge of Funeral arrangement.

Kelsey Dawn Englund of Sisseton, SD, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017. She was 19 years old. Kelsey Dawn Englund, Anaanga Ikwenz "Little Star Woman" was born in Sisseton, SD on October 28, 1997, to Lillian "Cori" Quinn and Neil Englund. At the time of her death, she was employed by Woodland Cabinetry in Sisseton, SD.

It is difficult to know where to begin to describe our angel. She loved being with her friends, spending time with her boyfriend, driving around, listening to music, and styling her hair in different ways. She loved her job, her family and friends. Kelsey, nicknamed as a baby "The Kelsinator" by her dad Neil, was small but fierce. She loved with all her heart. She was fearless in a way and if you knew her, you knew how fun and dynamic she was. There was never a dull moment with our Kelsinator!

Kelsey's earth struggles were many. It may be impossible to understand for some. Her heart was broken for her unborn baby, her sister Aiyana and for her dad Neil. She had many other issues that weighed heavy on her precious heart. If she had a message, it would be…help each other. Love hard and laugh when you can. Kelsey loved making people laugh. She was beauty, laughter, strength, and love.

We will never forget her.

Our beautiful, precious angel is survived by her parents Lillian "Cori" Quinn (Clinton Skenadore) of Green Bay, WI and Weston Quinn (Nichole Peterson) of Sisseton, SD. Four brothers: Ronald Taylor of Beardsley, MN, Gauge Englund of Waubun, MN, and Owen Quinn and Dominic Peterson of Sisseton, SD. Three sisters: Jenna Rose Taylor of Sisseton, SD, Nindonnis "Sunshine" Englund of Waubun, MN, and Ashley Roy of Mahnomen, MN. Grandparents Ronald Owen of Enemy Swim, SD, Mike Kappes and Vicki Bellanger of Waubun, MN, Gloria Powless of Oneida, WI, Fran Quinn of Sisseton, SD, and Crystal Owen of Sisseton, SD. Great-grandmothers Lillian Owen of Sisseton, SD and Marge Bellanger of White Earth, MN. Three special aunts who love her as though she was their own daughter: Danielle Englund of Waubun, MN, Dawn Skenadore of Oneida, WI, and Stacey Wegleitner of Sisseton, SD. Kelsey is also survived by her boyfriend Chandler Bartunek, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, extended family and many good friends whom she loved dearly.

Kelsey was preceded in death by her unborn child Baby Englund, her sister Aiyana Englund, her father Neil Englund, great-grandfathers Hiram Owen and Lowell Bellanger, Kunsis Clara Eagle and Sister Irene DeMarrias, her stepmother Donna Roy, aunts Ronelle Owen and Jessica Gill Anderson, and her uncle Hiram "Lil Hiram" Owen.

Kelsey's family implores you to seek out knowledge of depression, mental health, self harm, drug addiction, and suicide (warning signs, resources, etc). Talk about these subjects. End the stigma. Help one another.

Rest in peace, precious Kelsey. Little Star Woman. We love you so much and forever. Infinity.
