Funeral Service for Keith Allan Solberg, 57, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Grace Lutheran Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. William Schruba officiating. Organist will be Estelle Pearson and soloist will be Sherman Hannasch. Pallbearers will be Bobby Arbach, Terry Weinkauf, Aaron Weinkauf, Howard LaMee, Dennis Hutchins, Ronnie Bucklin, Gary Karst and Tim Rice. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Keith's grandchildren, family, friends, and the City of Sisseton Employees. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be visitation on Friday, July 22, 2011 at the Cahill Funeral Chapel from 1:00 to 7:00 P.M. with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, and visitation to continue on Saturday, at the church one hour prior to the Funeral Service. Keith Allan Solberg was born on October 1, 1953 in Sisseton, SD to Walter and Lucille (Solin) Solberg. He grew up in the Sisseton area and attended school in Sisseton. Following high school Keith helped his father on the farm and worked for Bucklin House Movers. Keith was united in marriage to Mary Janisch on September 19, 1975 in Sisseton, SD. Keith worked for a construction company building the Sisseton Elevator, he also worked on road construction, at Kromer's Standard Station, Estwick Distributing, Ellsworth Oil, Cass Clay and was presently employed by the city of Sisseton. He worked for Rice Stack movers for over thirty years, and was a longtime member of the Sisseton Fire Department and Roberts County Rescue. Keith loved to cook hot and spicy food, bake, garden, hunt, and fish. He liked to spend time with his grandchildren and family. Keith was a hard working and handy man to know. Keith passed away on July 19, 2011 at the Coteau Des Prairies Hospital, Sisseton, SD after a lengthy battle with cancer, with his family at his side.
Keith is survived by his wife, Mary of Sisseton, SD; three children, Lynn and wife, Holly Solberg of Watertown, SD, Lisa and husband, Fred Monson of Sisseton, SD, and Lee and wife Kate Solberg of Sisseton, SD; six grandchildren, Dillon, Andrew, Tyler, Jacob of Sisseton, SD and Jaxon and Nora of Watertown, SD; two sisters, Beverly and husband Gary Dickenson of Sisseton, SD and Sandra Koch of Sisseton, SD; two brothers, David Solberg and Sandra Stickland of Sisseton, SD and Kenneth Solberg of Sisseton, SD.
Keith was preceded death by his parents, and one son, Lonnie.
