Keith Bernell Kelly was born on May 6, 1946 to Lila Olson and James Kelly of Sisseton, SD. He went to school and graduated from Sisseton High School in 1964. He then went on to the service and served in Vietnam from 1966-67. He was proud of his service but it would affect him for the rest of his life. Having PTSD was not a good thing for him. He suffered a lot from it. He worked in Minneapolis after his service and then came back to Sisseton where he became a police officer for over 20 years. I am sure those were some of the best years of life as he enjoyed working with his fellow officers very much. When he retired he spent time enjoying truck driving with Jim Yammerino and Ray Moen. Those are also some good times he liked to talk about. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and went to Canada during the summer with his friends Roger Wright and the guys. He was also a bus driver for the Sisseton School District for many years. He married Gail Dalberg in 1974 and one daughter was born to them. He spoiled her and adored her and would protect her through anything. He had two grandchildren that he also thought the world of and recently a great grandson. As he got older and his health slowed him down his hobbies became less active. He worked on fixing up his 69 pickup and other vehicles he liked to mess around with. He also enjoyed painting and his last painting was his pride, of his pickup and his two granchildren. He enjoyed going to the casino with his best friend Ray and this seemed to relax him. He was a member of the VFW and the Legion also in Sisseton.
He is survived by his wife Gail, daughter Lisa Kelly (Adam Murdock) Mapleton, ND. two grandchildren, Alexis Kelly-Hill and Gage Murdock, and one great grandson Legend Jax Kelly-Hill. Brothers Wayne (Lorraine) Sisseton, SD, Ron (Julie) Watertown, SD, sisters, Phylis Martinek, New Effington, SD, Elaine (Richard) Jones, Springfield, SD, Linda Kelly (Lowell) Clarissa, MN, Vicki Kelly, Watertown, SD, brother in law Jon Tracy of Wilmar, MN, brothers in-Law: Norman (Kathy) Dalberg, Harold (Melissa) Dalberg, sisters in-law, Mavis (Darwin) Osterman, Ardes (Jerry) Bybee, Lorraine (Carlton) Fletcher, Bev (Dennis) Vig, Connie (Kermit) Anderson, and many nieces and nephews.
