Funeral Mass for Keith Charles DeMarrias, 57, of Las Vegas, NV, will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Fr. Tony Dummer Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Matthew's Catholic Cemetery, Veblen, SD. Pallbearers will be Tim and Mike Peters, Francis Eagle, Ronald, Michael, and Howard "Jody" Owen. Honorary Pallbearers will be "All of Keith's Relatives and Friends". There will be a wake service on Friday, August 6, at 7:00 PM at St. Catherine's Hall, Sisseton, SD. Keith Charles DeMarrias was born on February 3, 1953 at Sisseton, SD to Dan Ross and Joyce DeMarrias. Lillian and Harm Owen were his baptismal sponsors. Keith was put in the Foster Care system and was educated in Watertown, SD. After his education he entered military service and several years later he made contact with his tribal family members. Keith was involved with the American Indian Movement and was at Wounded Knee. He liked to travel and was constantly on the move. He passed away on July 23, 2010 in Las Vegas, NV.
Keith is survived by one brother James Weber of Sioux Falls, SD, special friend, Suzanne Smith of Salt Lake City, UT, two Aunts, Lillian Owen and Teresa Peters of Waubay, SD, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and maternal grandparents, John DeMarrias, and Mary Williams-Brown.
