Kara Diane Dirtseller was born on September 16, 1987 in Watertown, SD to Rider Dirtseller and Wanda Johnson. She grew up in the Sisseton area and attended school at Sisseton Elementary and T.Z.T.S. She received a poetry award in Las Vegas and got it published in a book. She was listed in the Who's Who in American Colleges and South Dakota's college because of her high SAT score. Her goal in life helped her maintain a 4.0 throughout college. She then went on to U of M in Minneapolis to pursue her career in her dream of Movie and Television directing and producing. She then moved to Tempe, AZ to attend ASU. Later moved out to Los Angeles where she attended USC. In LA she was so happy to work on the sets of Jimmy Kimmel and was involved in the production of Arianna Grande's video. Kara had a few classes left to receive her Bachelors degree.
Kara was the Ultimate Kings of Leon fan! She traveled across the U.S. to see them perform in concert. She was a devoted fan of the Minnesota Wild hockey team and her favorite player was Charlie Coyle. Music was an important part of Kara's life; she loved going to Coachella and Bonaroo music festivals.
She worked for the Headstart program and loved being around the children. Her many nieces and nephews were her world; she was the best auntie. She has always been a big dreamer and pursued her dreams. She was active in the No DAPL and a member of the SWO-Water Protectors. All who knew her, knew her silliness, teasing and laughter. She lived the life our creator intended her to live; Life filled with relationships of joy, love and laughter. She had moved home to take care of her mom and dad until her passing in Minnesota.
