Obituary

Funeral Service for Judy Ann LaBelle, 71, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with CRE Gerald Heminger Jr. officiating. The pianist will be Billy Kohl. Pallbearers will be Elloit Barse, Matthew Stewart, Deontae LeClaire, Duane LaBelle Jr., Ashden Sierra, Josh Johnson, Isaiah Grant, Josiah Grant, Jack Barse Jr., Troy Barse and Andrew Lefthand. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Rita Finley, Darrly Renville, Lester Crawford, Wilma King, Brenda Barse, Evelyn Pilcher, Darla King, Sharon White, Gloria White, Santa Faye White, Sandy White, Avina Hill, Joan Renville, Phodora Wilson, Maxine Renville, Peggy DeCoteau, Donna Barse, Anita Barse and Faith Erickson. Interment will be in the St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. Wake Services will be held at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center Agency Village, SD at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday and All night on Monday. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Judy Ann LaBelle was born on January 14, 1953, at Sisseton, SD to Rudeford and Lena (LaCroix) LaBelle. She attended boarding school at Wahpeton, ND. She worked at the mini mart, elderly center and cook at Dakota Connection. She enjoyed sewing, DIY crafting, you Tube (baby monkeys), bingo, and visiting. Her favorite team were the Vikings. She was family oriented. Her grandchildren were her priority. Always helping her children, grandchildren, siblings, and friends. Judy and Jake were together many years. They enjoyed cruising and thrift shopping together.

Judy is survived by her children, Gina LaBelle of Sioux Falls, SD, Lisa Barse of Sisseton, SD, Josalena LaBelle of Sisseton, SD, Sha-la Mora of Oklahoma City, OK, Kayla LaBelle of Watertown, SD and Renita Heminger of Aberdeen, SD; one brother Duane LaBelle of Sisseton, SD; one sister Shirley LaBelle of Oklahoma City, OK; thirty three grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and her significant other Jake DeMarrias of Sisseton, SD.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters Candace and Rosanna; three sisters Agnes Derby, Becky Martinez, and Rose Schoenrock; and one brother Floyd LaBelle.
