Judith Faye (Rice) Tarvin was born on April 11, 1945 in El Paso, TX to Benjamin Lee and Evangeline (Wurzinger) Rice. Judy graduated from Sisseton High School in 1963 where she went on to the University of South Dakota. She was united in marriage to Robert Tarvin, Jr on February 26, 1963. She was a bookkeeper for Otter Tail Power company for 28 years when she retired in 2003. She was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church where she was involved with the St. Cecelia's Women's Circle. Judy was a gardener and seamstress and enjoyed needle point, cross stitch and baking but she was most known for her beautiful quilts. She had made quilts for all members of her immediate family including nieces and nephews. Judy died at home after a year long battle with cancer on February 19, 2022.
Judith is survived by her four children; Rick and Lan Tarvin, Jim and Mayr Tarvin, Malissa and Jim Mayne, and Lisa Taylor; grandchildren Riley and Ian Mayne, Sam Tarvin, Logan and Jack Taylor, Jeremy Tarvin and great grandson Anakin Tarvin; siblings Mary (Lawrence) Hellwig, Evie Ulrich, Tom (Sandy) Rice, Paul (Mary) Rice, Dean (Karla) Rice.
Judy was preceded in death by her devoted husband Bob of 59 years, parents Evangeline and Lee Rice, her sister Patty Guthrie and two grandsons, Jordan Tarvin and Brenden Tarvin.
