Memorial Service will be held on September 17, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Joyce was born on November 6, 1928 in Browns Valley, MN to Albin and Esther (Arneson) Jacobson of Grant Township, Roberts County, SD. She attended elementary school at Grant Twp #1 and #3, she graduated from Sisseton High School in 1946. Following her education she worked at the Soil Conservation office and the Roberts County Abstract Office in Sisseton. In 1948 she moved to Minneapolis and worked at Kemper Insurance Co. She returned to Sisseton and worked at the Roberts County Treasurers Office. On June 9, 1951 Joyce was married to Adelord Raymond at Chokio, MN. They moved to Denver, CO where they established Business Careers for the next forty five years. Joyce was an associate in the JC Penny Fashion Dept., Modeled in Fashion Shows for May Company Dept. Store and Denver Dry Dept Store. She attended Fashion Coordination Classes at Emily Griffith Adult Education School, and also classes in Interior Decorating, she became a certified child care provider in Denver, Co, worked at All Saints Day Care Facility, and retired in 1988. From 1987 to 1993 she cared for her Sister Doris who was ill. Joyce and her daughter, Joan moved to Watertown, SD in December 1996 and made their home. Joyce passed away on August 30, 2011 at Jenkins Living Center, Watertown, SD.
Joyce is survived by one daughter, Joan Raymond of Watertown, SD, two sons, Larry Raymond of Morrison, CO and James and wife, Debi (Weiland) Raymond of Buena Vista, CO; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
