Obituary

Private Family Funeral Service for Joseph Lee Necklace, 62 formerly of Sisseton, SD will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at the Old Agency District Center, Old Agency with Fr. Charles Chan, Episcopal Lay Readers and Cecil Renville officiating. Pallbearers will be James Strutz, Jr., Quanah Necklace, Joshua Max, TJ Max, Remy Coney, and Fernando Cornejo, Jr, Honorary Pallbearers will be Russell Barse, David Barse, Kent Miller, Cecil Renville, Dean Renville, Tim Max and Curtis Redearth. Drum Group Wakinyalowan. Interment will be in St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery, Old Agency, South Dakota. Masks and social distancing are required. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Lee Necklace was born April 29, 1958 to Daniel and Katherine (Sing) Necklace at IHS Sisseton, SD. He grew up in the rural Peever, SD area. He attended School in Sisseton and later went to Job Corps in Montana and became a fire fighter. He loved animals, horses, dogs and cats throughout his life. He married Mildred LaRose and they lived in Sioux City, IA and Winnebago, NE areas for many years.   He did maintenance work at various factories. Mildred passed from cancer. He then moved to Watertown, SD for a length of time where he suffered a stroke. This started his life in various nursing homes, He was residing at the Alcester Care and Rehab Center, south of Sioux Falls, where he started his journey on November 6 th with family near him due to various health issues. Special thanks to the Staff at Alcester Care and Rehab Center. He shall be greatly missed by all.

Joseph leaves behind two brothers Dan Necklace Jr. of Minneapolis, MN, and Jonathan Edwards of Fargo, ND, and four sisters Frances (Joe) Opitz of New Effington, SD, Teresa (Steve) Campbell of St. Paul, MN, Danielle (Remy) Coney of Wahpeton, ND, and Marcia Chagala of Laredo, TX, and many nieces and nephews.

Joe is reunited with his father Daniel Necklace, his mother Katherine Necklace, brothers and sisters along with many relative, RIP brother.
