Memorial Service for Joelene Mae Kampeska-Larson, "Kampeska Win", "White Shell Woman," 61, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Kateri's Hall, Sisseton SD with Pastor Vern Donnell officiating. Honorary Urnbearers are Carrie Ann Greeley, Leslie Hewitt, Georgia Bird, Cheryl Renville, Lila Renville, Gladys Renville, Lynelle Haug, Sharon White, Sharold Larson, Martha Renville, Janelle Many Lightnings, Yolanda LaBatte, Stephen Pearson, Wanda Thompson, Destiny Larson, Liza Horne, Wanda Varnes, all of her grandchildren; Mackenzie Wetterling, Braxton Wetterling, Madison Wetterling, Bennett Greseth, Bryant Brown, Jaylee Brown, Jocielynn Gruettner, Jeter Brown, Gabriella Resendiz, and Olivia Resendiz, great-grandson; Major Gunderson, and all of Joelene's friends and family. Inurnment will be at a later date at the St. Matthew's Catholic Cemetery, Veblen, SD. Joelene passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019 at her home after a three and a half year battle with cancer, with her family.
Joelene was born December 12, 1958 to Wallace Kampeska and Irene Renville in Sisseton, SD. Joelene worked many jobs throughout her life dealing with the public. She was a manager, waitress, bartender, and cashier. She graduated in 1989 from Detroit Lakes Technical College with a degree in Small Business Management. Joelene loved spending time with her family and friends, loved helping people any way she could. Her favorite TV show was the Price is Right which she watched every day. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, enjoyed cookouts, pool, bowling, playing Yahtzee, and country music. Joelene married the love of her life Kerwin Larson on November 11, 2011. They had many happy years together and enjoyed raising their son, Jace Goodsell Jr.
Joelene is survived by her loving husband Kerwin Larson of Sisseton, SD; children Shane (Jenny) Brown of Sisseton, SD, Sheila Greseth of Browns Valley, MN, Leslie MacConnell-Resendiz of Webster, SD, and Jace Goodsell Jr. of Sisseton, SD; mother, Irene Renville; brothers, Todd Blackthunder and Kyle Kampeska; sisters Theresa Wilson, Jody Ramos, and Raquel Horn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joelene was preceded in death by her father Wallace Kampeska; brothers, Victor Kampeska and Waylon Horne; sisters, Memory (Kampeska) Haug and Sheila K. Kampeska.
