Funeral Service for Joan Faith "Baby Girl" Frank "Zitkana Wachi Win", 65 of Enemy Swim, SD will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. James Episcopal Church, Enemy Swim, SD with the Rev. Charles Chan, Rev. Les Campbell and Rev. Barb Fairbanks Officiating. Layreaders Clifford LaFontaine, Mike LaFontaine, Frank Barse and Levi Keoke. Kay Burshiem will be the pianist and Buffalo Lake Singers Drum Group. Pallbearers will be Harold Gus Frank, Roland Frank, Cameron Frank, Darrell Frank, Maurice Monteau, and Chad Monteau. Honorary Pallbearers are "All of Joan's friends". Interment will be at the Mahto Cemetery, Owl Lake, SD. There will be all night wake services at the St. James Episcopal Church on Wednesday July 11th, and Thursday July 12th at 7:00 PM. Joan Faith Bellonger was born on October 2, 1946 at home by Owl Lake, SD to Norbit Bellonger and Elaine (Hopkins) Mireau. She graduated from Eagle Butte High School in Eagle Butte, SD. Joan was united in marriage to Harold Gus Frank at Wheaton, MN in 1969 till 1991. She lived in Flandreau, SD, Lawrence, KS, and Enemy Swim, SD. Joan worked as a Dormitory Attendant at Haskell and as a Secretary at Flandreau Indian School. She liked to travel and go to Pow Wow's. She enjoyed beading and cooking for others. Joan was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Enemy Swim, SD. Joan passed away on July 9, 2012 at a Sioux Falls, SD Hospital with her family at her side.
Joan is survived by Harold Gus Frank, sons, Roland Frank of Sisseton, SD, Cameron Frank of Redding, CA, Darrell Frank of Lawrence, KS, daughter Marcy Frank of Lawrence, KS; one sister, Josephine Bellonger of Lawrence, KS and two brothers, Norbit Bellonger of Peever, SD and Richard "Greg" Mireau of Ft. Washakie, WY, grandchildren; Justin Frank, Winter Fox Frank, Sage Frank, Blue Star Frank, Christian Frank, Elaine Frank, Chaske` Frank, Maura Frank, Max Frank, Krysallin Ahtone, Theran Ahtone, Alberta Downwind, Gavin Frank and her beloved dog Ferocious.
