Funeral Service for Jesse Otis Feather "BooBoo", 46, of New Effington, South Dakota will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Milton "Nippy" Owen and Filmore Simon officiating. Pall Bearers will be Jacob Owen, Jesse Lee Owen, Joshua Peterson, Cody Toutges, Theodore "Ted" Feather, Joseph Herman Jr., Jayden Miller and Silas Feather. Honorary Pallbearers will be Christian Robertson, Jeremy High Eagle, Colin Owen, Mike Sierra, Madrid Roberts, Micheal Dahn, Jewel Bearhill, Danielle Coney, Mauri Thompson, and Ronald Goodsell. Drum Group will be Ol Bull. There will be All Night Wake Services on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 and Wednesday, May 3, 2023 starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Jesse Otis Feather was born on February 26, 1977 in Modesto, CA to Lawrence "Yogi" Feather and Evelyn Bagola. He lived in Modesto until he was 3 years old and then moved back to South Dakota with his dad. He then attended grade school. Throughout high school, he was an honor student and even earned a trip to Italy. He graduated TZTS in 1996. After school, Jesse worked most of his life at the Dakota Magic Casino as a slot technician and supervisor. He left for a short time and worked at Walmart then returned to the casino. He worked in the Sports Book department then became associate manager. Jesse had many friends and made many memories as well as taught many people the ins and outs of the casino life. He was very proud to share his knowledge. He was a workaholic. He loved his pride and joy, his cat Potatoe. Jesse loved listening to Metallica and playing games on his phone for hours on end. He loved football season and was a big Chiefs fan. As Jesse would say, "Go Chiefs!".
Jesse is survived by his father Lawrence Feather and his mother Evelyn Bagola; his children Silas Feather, Angela Feather, Jyssica Feather, Joshua Peterson, and Felica McKay; lifelong companion McKenzie Wilson; siblings Jeremy High Eagle, Teresa Turniquist, Toni Feather, and Carrey Feather; grandchildren Shaylee Feather, Vinson Feather, and Romeo Wilson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Jesse is preceded in death by his sister Lynette Feather; brother Sean Feather; daughter Shaylee Feather
