Funeral Service for Jerry Francis (Snee) Charger, 58, of Watertown, SD will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at the Diamond Willow Church, Fort Thompson, SD. Pallbearers will be Jerris Iyarpeya, Josh Iyarpeya, Tamarick Rencountre, Michael Iyarpeya, Josh Rencountre, Joseph Rencountre, Loren Longie and Mason Marks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Beth Cho, Andrea Cho, Hank & Danita Iyarpeya, Robert Rencountre, and Carol Reynolds. There will be an All Night Wake Service on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. at the Enemy Swim Community Center, Enemy Swim, SD. Then on Sunday, November 20, 2022 there will be an All Night Wake Service at the Diamond Willow Church, Fort Thompson, SD starting at 6:00 P.M.  Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Mission Cemetery, Stephan, SD.  The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Jerry was born to Douglas and Esther (Charger) Rencountre Sr. on June 9, 1964 at Eagle Butte, SD.  Jerry grew up in Enemy Swim and went to school in Waubay.  In school he ran track and he would sometimes run from Waubay to Enemy Swim.  He fancy danced at Pow-Wows in his younger years.  He also enjoyed softball and played in softball leagues.   He lived in Enemy Swim, Aberdeen, Fort Thompson as well as Pierre and Sioux Falls in his later years.    The last two years he lived in Watertown with his kids, two grandkids and his dog.  He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and would walk to see them.  He passed away on November 17, 2022 at Watertown, South Dakota.

Jerry is survived by his children, Jerris Iyarpeya, Maria Iyarpeya, Michel Iyarpeya and Beth Cho;  the mother of his children Grace Iyarpeya; four brothers, Leroy Rencountre, Robert Rencountre, Gayle Rencountre and Douglas Rencountre Jr.;  six sisters, Evelyn, Rhonda, Jodie, Bonnie, Carol and Sharen Rencountre; two grandchildren Loretta Longie and Maricio Iyarpeya; and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Esther (Charger) Rencountre Sr; two brothers, Larry and Robin Rencountre; his paternal grandparents Margaret and Burton Rencountre; and maternal grandmother Alice Summers.
