Celebration of Life Service for Jena Pearl Genia-Redwing, 33, of Sioux Falls SD will be held on Tuesday, December 03, 2024, starting at 5:00 P.M. with a meal at the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Community Center, Agency Village.
Jena Pearl Genia was born on November 12, 1990, in Sisseton, SD to David Genia Sr. and Philomine "Bonnie" Eagle. She grew up on BIA 700 with her family and many friends. Jena often shared fond memories of the friends she grew up with on BIA 700. She attended Tiospa Zina Tribal School. Jena enjoyed and loved her pets Elvis Purrsley, Waffles, Bonney & Clyde, and Houdini. Jena was adventurous, brave, and compassionate. She cared for her nieces Jullette Jae Brant and Saffire Wolfe as her own children. She liked cooking shows and was an avid "foodie." Jena's favorite Gordon Ramsey Restaurant was Hell's Kitchen. She enjoyed our trip to Vegas. She also enjoyed listening to music, podcasts, and cruising around. Jena went on many journeys. She saw the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and the Gulf of Mexico, and everyplace in between. Jena journeyed to the Spirit World in the morning of October 17, 2024, in Theodore, Alabama.
Jena is survived by her loving partner, Darrick Redwing of Sioux Falls, SD; three children, KimimanaStaWin, WakinyaStanWin, and IstaStanunzanipiWin; her father David Genia Sr; sisters, Sara Genia-Hisgun, Thomasina Genia-Knight, Erin Genia, Heather Genia, Tracey North Piegan; brothers David Genia Jr., Stanford North Piegan and Joey North Piegan; numerous Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
Jena was preceded in death by her mother Philomine (Bonnie) Eagle; her maternal Grandparents Ben and Ione Eagle; paternal Grandparents Howard and Pansy (Patsy) Genia; her brother Joshua North Piegan; a niece Ivory Inez Brant and her baby sister who was also her best friend Carolyn Genia-Flute.
