Obituary

Funeral services for Jeffery Allan Schoenrock, 70, will be held at the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Community Center on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 2:00PM, which would have been Jeff's 71 st birthday and he and Caril's 4 th anniversary. Wake services will be held Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the SWO Community Center both nights beginning at 7:30PM. Officiating will be Commissioned Ruling Elder Gerald "Jr. H" Heminger, Jr. and Pastor Milton "Nippy" Owen. Pianist will be Billy Kohl. Pallbearers will be Elliot Schoenrock, Roland "Toby" Schoenrock, Brian Bartunek, Tanner Bartunek, Mark Thompson, Sr., Lendean White, Kyan White, Joshua Kohl, David Kohl and Micah Kohl. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alex "Muchie" Heminger, Kevin Chilson, Robert Kohl, Gilbert Kohl, Lindsay White, Sheldon Kipp, Bill Canku, Sr., Morris Canku, Duwayne Weston, Gerald Amos, Kojak Heminger, Michael T. Heminger, John German, Sr., Wayne German, Sr., Todd Goodsell, Roland Heminger, Clayton Ellingson, Jr. and Dennis Owen, Jr.   Interment will be at the Ascension Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Big Coulee, SD. Military rites will be provided by the Kit Fox Society. Jeff passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at his home in Big Coulee, SD on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.

Jeff was born on June 24, 1948 to Lavern and Jeanette (Heminger) Schoenrock in Sisseton, SD. Jeff was raised on his grandparents' farm, Chris and Lucinda Heminger, in Big Coulee, SD. Jeff attended school at the Big Coulee Day School and attended the Wilmot Public School in Wilmot, SD where he graduated in 1968. Jeff entered the US Army on January, 19, 1968 and served during the Viet Nam Era and was honorably discharged on December, 8, 1969. His brother Russell also served in Viet Nam. Jeff was united in marriage to Rose LaBelle and to this union two daughters were born, Louetta Jean and Rhonda Kay. Jeff worked for various road construction outfits in SD and MN. He also worked for the SWO Law Enforcement, Sisseton BIA, Security at the Dakota Sioux Casino, SWO Realty and the Sisseton-Wahpeton Housing Authority. Jeff married Caril Amos on June 24, 2015 in Sisseton, SD. He and Caril had a son, Daniel Amos Schoenrock, who died as an infant. Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, bon fires, working on vehicles, watching Jeff Gordon racing, family cookouts, and any doings outdoors. He also enjoyed getting together and listening to old country music.

Jeff is survived by his wife Caril of Big Coulee; his daughter Rhonda of Summit, SD; a sister Georgia Bird of South Shore, SD and an adopted sister Charlene LaFontaine. Also survived by stepsons Justin Amos, Lendean White and Lindsay White and stepdaughter Consuelo White. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Jeff was proceeded in death by his daughter Louetta Jean, son Daniel, grandson Austin Keith, his parents, brother Russell, his maternal grandparents Chris and Lucinda (DeCoteau) Heminger. Also proceeded by his great-grandfather the Reverend Albert Heminger, whom Jeff would help him when he preached at the Ascension Presbyterian Church, as Rev. Heminger was blind. Jeff was proceeded by many other relatives too numerous to name.
