Funeral Service for Jared "JB" Marshall Goodsell, Wákáŋhdi , "Lightning", 24, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at SWO Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with John Cloud III and St Mary's Episcopal Lay Reader's officiating. Pianist will be Billy Kohl. Drum group Long Elk. Pallbearers will be Kyle Cook, Marshall Goodsell, Bailyn Burshiem, Austin Shepherd, Dustin Snow, Hunter Watts, Edwin DuMarce, Marcus Gill. Honorary Pallbearers are Devin White, Derrick Flute, Harvey Renville III, Nicholas Renville, Bryan DuMarce Jr., Bruce DeMarrias, Corrine BraveBull, Janiya Farmer, Jarace Goodsell, JaRyus Goodsell, Angel Villarreal. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery, Agency Village, SD. There will be an all night wake services on Thursday, January 6, 2022 starting at 7:00 at the SWO Tribal Community Center. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD, will be in charge of arrangements.

Jared Marshall Goodsell was born on October 31, 1997 to Jared Goodsell Sr. and Jessica Renville in Sisseton, SD. When he was 5 months old he went to live with his grandparents Donita and Marshall. Grandpa Marshall soon gave him the nickname "JB". When people ask his grandpa Marshall why he called him "JB" when his name was Jared Marshall, his Grandpa said it was because he is"Jared's Boy". And so the nickname stayed. "JB" attended Tiopsa Zina Tribal School at Agency Village. He later began working with his Grandpa Marshall in the sanitation business.

"JB" had a great personality and a smile for all. He will be most remembered for ALWAYS making everyone laugh, but if you didn't laugh he would work on making you mad. He enjoyed playing X-box, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and cruising around with his friends. His Mom Donita will always remember asking about one of his girlfriends, she asked him if she was pretty, and he replied back with all women are beautiful. "JB" loved to spend time with his family and cherish every moment with his pride and joy, his son, Greyson Jace Goodsell.

"JB" is survived by his Mother Jessica Renville of Sisseton, SD; His Son Greyson Jace Goodsell of Sisseton, SD, Grandparents Donita and Marshall Goodsell of Sisseton, SD; His Maternal grandmother Marvel Burshiem of Sisseton, SD, and grandparents Norman and Julie Watts of Sisseton, SD; His siblings, Angel Villarreal of Brownsville, TX, Marshall Jared Goodsell of Sisseton, SD, Teagan Goodsell of Sisseton, SD, Theodore Goodsell of Sisseton, SD, Hoksina BullBear of Sioux Falls, SD, Jarace Goodsell of Sisseton, SD, JaRyus Goodsell of Sisseton, SD, Aliyah Marlow of Abercrombie, ND, and Gracie Goodsell of Sisseton; his godparents Donovan Keeble and Lydia Derby, and many more uncles, aunties, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

"JB" was preceded in death by his Father Jared Goodsell Sr., his maternal great-grandmother Connie St John-Keeble; paternal grandparents Glenn and Lydia; paternal grandpa Kenneth Burshiem Sr.; uncle Jace Goodsell and auntie Lakota Renville.
