Funeral Service for Jared Marshall Goodsell, 33, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Agency Village, SD with Rev. Charles Chan and the Episcopal lay readers officiating with music by Billy Kohl. Pallbearers will be Jace Goodsell, Conrad Brown, Andy Williams, Troy Goodsell Jr., Edwin Dumarce, Bubba Womack, Michael Selvage Jr., David Farmer, Larry "Jim" Finley, David Williams and Tilmer Selvage. Honorary Pallbearers will be "All of Jared's friends and family". Interment will in the St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery, Agency Village, SD. There will be wake service on Tuesday, 6/5/2012 at 7:00 PM at the Tribal Community Center at Agency Village, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Jared Marshall Goodsell was born on August 28, 1978 at Sisseton, SD to Marshall and Donita (Bursheim) Goodsell. He grew up and attended school in Sisseton. After his education he worked construction, raised his family and lived in the Sisseton area. His hobbies were playing cards, dirt bikes, racing motocross, hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his family. Jared was fun loving, and he had a special way of making friends wherever he went. He passed away on June 3, 2012 at Coteau Des Prairies Hospital in Sisseton, SD due to injuries received in a one vehicle MVA.
Jared is survived by his spouse, Rahima Goodsell of Sisseton, SD, his parents, Marshall and Donita Goodsell of Sisseton, SD, seven children, Aliyah Marlow of Abercrombie, ND, Jared (JB) Goodsell Jr., Gracie Lydia Goodsell, Marshall Jared Goodsell, Teagan Goodsell, Theodore Moses Goodsell, and Hoksina BullBear all of Sisseton, SD, one brother, Jace Marshall Goodsell of Sisseton, SD, and his maternal grandmother Marvel Bursheim of Peever, SD, special mother Lydia "Dee Dee" Derby of Sisseton, SD, four adopted sisters Michelle, Josie, Brittney, and Lucille and one adopted brother John and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Jared was preceded in death by one brother, Marshall Goodsell Jr., maternal grandfather, Kenneth Bursheim Sr., and paternal grandparents, Lydia and Glenn Goodsell.
