Funeral Mass for Jim Randolph, 61, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Fr. Jerry Ranek Celebrant. Organist will be Colette Hull and song leaders will be Sandi Jaspers and Cindy Marohl. Pallbearers will be Rick Huber, Randy Evitt, Curt White, Chris Huber, Darold Richards, and Terry Jaspers. Inurnment will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Military Rites will be provided by the Otto-Quande-Renville American Legion Post #50 and Fort Sisseton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3342. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Jim was born on March 29, 1955 at Norfolk, VA to John and Jean (Simon) Randolph. He grew up and attended school in Norfolk and graduated from Lake Taylor High School in 1973. After his education Jim served in the US Army from March 1974 until March 1976. He served all of his active duty in Germany during the Vietnam Era. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Marksman M16. After his discharge Jim moved to Havre, MT and got a job working on water towers and in 1978 Jim moved to Sioux Falls, SD. Then in 1987 he met Connie Huber in Sisseton while he was working on the water tower. They were married on June 3, 1989 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Sisseton, SD. They moved to Norfolk in January 1990 and returned to Sisseton in July 1990. Jim worked for Maguire Iron from 1978 until 1996. He also worked for Lakes Gas, Sisseton Cement Plant, Fuel Inc., and worked at the Sisseton City Liquor Store from 2008 until 2016. Jim was a longtime member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion Post #50. Jim was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, liked reading, board games, puzzles, playing cards, and loved artwork.
Jim is survived by his wife Connie of Sisseton, SD two children, Nolan Randolph of Sioux Falls, SD, and Julia Randolph of Moorhead, MN, his mother Jean of Norfolk, VA, three sisters, Mary Blonts of Norfolk, VA, Judy and (Jay) Malone of Charlottesville, VA, Theresa and (Bert) Floresca of Norfolk, VA, two brothers, Bob and (Pat) Randolph of Virginia Beach, VA, and John and (Rita) Randolph of Norfolk, VA.
He was preceded in death by his father, John and one sister Camille.
