Obituary

Funeral service for James E. Pomani, 19 of Waubay, SD will be held on April 2, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the St James' Episcopal Church, Enemy Swim, with Fr. Charles Chan, Fr. Les Campbell, Danny Seaboy and Londell Seaboy officiating. Special Music by Tyson Flute. Drum Group will be Long Elk. Pallbearers will be Lance Keeble, Justin Barse, Greg Tracy, Nate Johnson, Alex Provost, Aaron Hinze, John Redday Jr., Jack Crawford, Jahna Perko and Caske. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sheridan "Meatball" Renville, Cheryl Renville, Tyson Flute, Jim Strutz Sr., Justin Barse, Raymond Quinn, Vern Rouillard Jr. and Chris Rouillard. Interment will be in St. James Episcopal Cemetery, Enemy Swim, SD. Wake Services will be held at the Enemy Swim Community Center on Thursday, and Friday, at 7:00 P.M. with an all night Wake Service on Friday. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

James attended school at ESDS from K-7 grade. He started High School at TZTS. He went on later to get his GED. James was a good kid in school. He Worked at Dakota Magic Casino at the hotel front desk. James planned on starting college at SWCC next fall. He planned to start there and later move on to go to a university. James was the eldest brother of six and two sisters. He loved spending time with all of his little brothers and sisters. James was wise beyond his years. He always had inspiring and loving words to almost any situation. James loves making everyone around him feel important. He is wiser than the few short years he was here beside us. He loves his "dumpling gang" brothers. He made everyone his family. James loves his family more than anything. Music made his world go around. He loved music and listening to it loud. He enjoyed going to concerts. He always liked to try new things. He enjoyed being outside and doing things, no matter what it was. He loved adventures. Crossing paths with James would change everyone's ways on life and love with positive feeling. He made life beautiful and amazing. James was very family oriented. He always wanted to spend time together and enjoy other's company. James loved to be around his family, loved ones, and friends. He loved to have a good time. People always have good positive things to say about him. He had so much ambition. James had a beautiful soul. He was different in a good way. He wasn't like anyone else. James was a believer/follower of God. He prayed to him every night. He attended church occasionally. He didn't put himself first, and he was very loving and caring. He always made sure everyone was okay, especially his family, brothers, sisters, mom and grandma. He was very strong minded. Once he set a goal he was going to go after it. He was also very open minded and understanding. He had an old soul. Trust and loyalty meant a lot to him he had such a beautiful vibe. James was called home on the morning of March 27, 2016.
James is survived by mother, Deanna F. Pomani-Gallardo of Waubay; his father Miguel Barrera Sanchez of Ft. Worth, TX.; his grandmother, Ellen M. Fisher of Waubay, SD; seven brothers Javon J. Pomani, Jamal Pomani, Miguel Gallardo Jr., Esperanza Gallardo, Adrian Gallardo of Waubay, SD, Gustavo and Yuli Barrera of Fr. Worth, TX; Samantha Pomani, Savannah Pomani, Roshan Pomani all of Waubay, SD; Donna Rouillard, and Karen Joseph; Grandfather, Dereck and Donna Shuck of Pittsburg, PA; Great-grandmother Geraldine Rencountre; God Father Jason Rencountre; uncles J. Joseph (Stacie) Fisher, Richard Fisher, Delbert E. Pomani Jr., Frank Pomani, Glenn Pomani, Tyson Flute; aunts Tracie (Mike) Monzel,Tonia Pomani (Newsome) and husband Shawn Campbell, Elizabeth Pomani, Jesslyn, Job and Wyatt Cottingham, Danielle Harrison and Linda Pomani; cousins, Kingston and Destiny Fisher, Eric , Derric and D.J. Dufek, Dominic and Jadyn Fisher, Shelby Campbell, Shawnee Rae Campbell, Shay Lena Campbell, Sheyenne Campbell, Sophia Campbell, Simone Campbell and his soulmate Jada Redday.
James was preceded in death by his Grandpa Delbert Pomani Sr., Great-Grandma Charlotte Cramton; Great-Great-Grandmother Florence Christenson (BlueDog), Aunts Helen Sophie Pomani, Mary Jane Medicine Crow and Jaclene Running Bear Grey.
